Department of CorrectionsStreamlined Family Visit ProcessOlympic Corrections Center’s Extended Family Visit (EFV) process was cumbersome,time consuming, difficult and frustrating for inmate families. Each inmatehousingunit was using different (and sometimes outdated) forms. Rather thanmaintaining the forms on file, inmates and families had to fill out new forms eachtime the inmate requested a visit. The visit officers were also duplicating someprocesses and performing needless tasks.A team was formed to review the process. The team determined which formswere necessary, and which could be eliminated. A new process was created forproducing counselor/inmate initial application packets and for processingExtended Family Visit paperwork only one time.
