Dear Parents, We Will Be Sending A Letter

Please put your child’s name on each article of clothing that may be removed. We cannot stressthe importance of this as children forget their belongings often.Backpacks: They should be with no wheels and large enough to fit your child’s belongings anda file folder. It is easier for children to bring home many important papers and special projects ina backpack. Please save the oversized backpacks and those with wheels for trips. These do notfit in the children’s cubbies. Also, please remember to label backpacks and lunch pails.Birthday Celebrations: Birthdays are marvelous celebrations! Please send cookies (withoutpeanuts) to school to celebrate your child’s birthday with their classmates. We require that onlycookies be sent for your child’s birthday treat. No cupcakes, cake or juice. Please do not handout birthday invitations at school. This is to avoid hurt feeling or the invitations from gettinglost.To make sure that your child’s first day of school goes smoothly, please:1. Let us know if your child is taking the bus.2. We encourage parents to say goodbye to their children before they enter the classroom.3. During school hours, the kindergarten yard is only for children enrolled in kindergarten atJackson Academy. This is for the School District’s insurance coverage.4. Remember to send a box of crackers or cookies (peanut free) with your child and any ofthe school supply contributions.5. At dismissal, students in the first session will be dismissed at 12:25 from thekindergarten yard on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday. Students in the secondsession will be dismissed at 2:05 in front of the office. Please use legal, designatedparking, and then walk to pick up your child. Please be prompt in picking up your child.The staff and the office greatly appreciate your promptness.6. On Wednesdays we have a Minimum Day Schedule.7. One of the first things your child learns to do in Kindergarten is to write his/her name incorrect form. Please practice using the correct form. That means an uppercase letter atthe beginning and the rest of the letters in lower case.We are looking forward to meeting your child and having a wonderful year together!
