eLECTED MEMBER NEWSDeborah Copenhaver Fellows oversaw the installationand dedication of her memorial to the BoyScouts in Spokane, Washington. The seven-foothigh monument is titled Footsteps to the Future andcelebrates the organization’s 100th Anniversary.Joy Beckner (NSS), Robert Glenn (NSS)and Rosetta (FNSS) had work includedin the “Art for Conservation” exhibitionat the Hiram Blauvelt Museum. Theshow ran from September 15 - December31 at the Oradell, New Jersey venue.Footsteps to the Futureby Deborah Copenhaver Fellows, NSSSisko had a “Small Works” exhibition at his Seattle,Washington gallery. The holiday exhibition ranfrom November 24 through the new year and highlightedseveral NSS members’ (past and present)works: Nina Akamu (FNSS), Michael Bergt (NSS),Aldo Casanova (FNSS), Everett DuPen (FNSS),Louise Peterson (NSS), and Bart Walter (NSS).This past summer Sisko taught a sculpture workshopat the Gage Academy in Seattle, Washington.White Barn Owlby Sisko, FNSSCheetahs on the Run by Rosetta, FNSSIn the fall, Rosetta’s overlife-sizedcheetahs wereinstalled and dedicated ina ceremony in Dowagiac,Michigan. Cheetahs on theRun was commissioned bythe Dalton family in memoryof their mother/grandmotherHelen Tremble and is placedin a prominent area of thetown. Rosetta also gave apresentation at Fire Arts inSouth Bend, Indiana titled“Following Your Heart:One Artist’s Journey.”Gwen Marcus was included inthe “Small Treasures” exhibitionat the Cheryl Newby Gallery. Theshow ran November 21 - December12 at the South Carolina venue.NSS Patron, Alvin Holm, AIA, was awarded theClem Labine Award for his dedication to Classicismat the Traditional Building Exhibition and Conferencein Baltimore. Holm is the inaugural recipient ofthe award which recognizes his lifelong contributionsto classical architecture and his devotion to teaching.Winter’s Pawsby Daniel Glanz, NSSDaniel Glanz’s life size Border Collie, On theGo, was installed in September 2009 at theLongmont Humane Society in Longmont, Colorado.His Canadian Lynx, Winter’s Paws,was installed this summer at the Mariana ButteGolf Course Clubhouse in Loveland, Colorado.The Catchby Gwen Marcus, FNSS
