THE <strong>DIPLOMA</strong>This programme seeks to provide itsparticipants with an overview <strong>of</strong> themost important practical aspects <strong>of</strong>corporate law. The new CompaniesAct has brought about significantchanges to corporate law in SouthAfrica. Participants are exposed to thelatest developments in the field. Legalpractitioners, company secretaries andcorporate advisers will find this course<strong>of</strong> particular value.The programme extends over oneyear on a part-time basis. Lectures arepresented in English, but students mayparticipate and write the examinationin Afrikaans.As company law encompasses sucha broad field, it forms the main focus<strong>of</strong> the course. Attention is also givento close corporations and their futurerole. In addition, the course touches onaspects <strong>of</strong> partnerships and businesstrusts.MODE OF PRESENTATIONThe programme combines the benefits<strong>of</strong> guided and structured self-studywith those <strong>of</strong> approximately 35 hours<strong>of</strong> contact tuition and interaction withother participants. Highly experiencedpractitioners provide further insightthrough guest presentations.
