In order to ensureaccurate setting of the teeth (+/- 0.0025mm (0.001"))the new screw based system (which replaces the old"over-centre" lever system) is less tiring for theoperator allowing greater accuracy and speed in thesetting operation.In addition the stand has been modified so that theangle of the setter can be adjusted to suit all operatorsand ensures accurate reading of the scale.All of these factors ensure accurate and repeatablesetting from tooth to tooth which in turn ensuresaccurate, straight cutting leaving a very smooth surface.Recommended Blade SpecificationsWood-Mizer sharpeners feature a 0.18kW single phaseAC motor with a nominal speed of 2800 rpm. Thistype of motor is renowned for long and trouble freelife because it does not have brushes or commutators.It is an ideal solution for sharpeners where the presenceof abrasive materials such as oil and metal filingswould quickly ruin other motors.The Wood-Mizer design also facilities the easy insertionand removal of the blade.When installing the blade the head lifts up out of theway and the blade can be easily inserted into theclamp. The electric control box is mounted in such aposition as to allow easy access to the controls.Incorporated into the hinged lid is a venting pipe thatcan be connected to an exhaust system to remove anyfumes generated during the sharpening process.
