) the right of holders of Shares of any class in <strong>Aberdeen</strong> <strong>Global</strong> to require the redemption or switching ofsuch Shares may from time to time be suspended in the circumstances and manner described on page 23;INVESTMENT OBJECTIVES AND POLICIES<strong>Aberdeen</strong> <strong>Global</strong> aims to provide investors with a broad international range of diversified actively-managed<strong>Funds</strong> which, through their specific investment objectives and individual portfolios, offer investors theopportunity of exposure to selected areas or to conveniently build a diversified global stock and bondportfolio to meet their individual investment goals.The overall strategy of <strong>Aberdeen</strong> <strong>Global</strong> and the separate <strong>Funds</strong> is to seek diversification through investmentprimarily in Transferable Securities. All <strong>Funds</strong> may hold liquid assets on an ancillary basis.The following applies to all <strong>Funds</strong>, unless the more detailed investment objectives set out below impose furtherrestrictions on a particular Fund. In such circumstances these additional restrictions shall take precedence overthis paragraph.The Equity <strong>Funds</strong>, namely <strong>Aberdeen</strong> <strong>Global</strong> - American Opportunities Fund, <strong>Aberdeen</strong> <strong>Global</strong> – Asia PacificFund, <strong>Aberdeen</strong> <strong>Global</strong> – Asia Pacific and Japan Fund, <strong>Aberdeen</strong> <strong>Global</strong> – Asian Smaller Companies Fund,<strong>Aberdeen</strong> <strong>Global</strong> – Australasian Equity Fund, <strong>Aberdeen</strong> <strong>Global</strong> – China Opportunities Fund, <strong>Aberdeen</strong> <strong>Global</strong> –Emerging Markets Fund, <strong>Aberdeen</strong> <strong>Global</strong> – Emerging Markets Smaller Companies Fund, <strong>Aberdeen</strong> <strong>Global</strong> –Ethical Engagement World Equity Fund, <strong>Aberdeen</strong> <strong>Global</strong> – European Equity Fund, <strong>Aberdeen</strong> <strong>Global</strong> –European Opportunities (Ex UK) Fund, <strong>Aberdeen</strong> <strong>Global</strong> – India Opportunities Fund, <strong>Aberdeen</strong> <strong>Global</strong> –Japanese Equity Fund, <strong>Aberdeen</strong> <strong>Global</strong> – Japan Smaller Companies Fund, <strong>Aberdeen</strong> <strong>Global</strong> – TechnologyFund, <strong>Aberdeen</strong> <strong>Global</strong> – UK Opportunities Fund, <strong>Aberdeen</strong> <strong>Global</strong> – World Equity Fund and <strong>Aberdeen</strong><strong>Global</strong> – Worldwide Smaller Companies may hold cash, cash equivalents (such as money market instruments)and interest bearing securities which under normal market conditions will not exceed 15% of the Net <strong>Asset</strong>Value of the Fund. Investments in non-Eligible States and/or in markets which are not Regulated Markets shallin aggregate not exceed 10% of the Net <strong>Asset</strong>s of any of these <strong>Funds</strong>.For the Bond <strong>Funds</strong>, namely the <strong>Aberdeen</strong> <strong>Global</strong> –Asia Pacific and Australasian Bond Fund, the <strong>Aberdeen</strong><strong>Global</strong> – European High Yield Bond Fund, <strong>Aberdeen</strong> <strong>Global</strong> – Fixed Interest Opportunities Fund, <strong>Aberdeen</strong><strong>Global</strong> – High Yield Bond Fund, <strong>Aberdeen</strong> <strong>Global</strong> – Sterling Corporate Bond Fund, <strong>Aberdeen</strong> <strong>Global</strong> – SterlingFinancials Bond Fund, <strong>Aberdeen</strong> <strong>Global</strong> – Sovereign High Yield Bond Fund (to be renamed <strong>Aberdeen</strong> <strong>Global</strong> –Emerging Markets Bond Fund with effect from 30 March 2007) and <strong>Aberdeen</strong> <strong>Global</strong> – World Bond Fund, nomore than 10% of their Net <strong>Asset</strong> Value may be invested in equities or equity related securities.Distinct investment objectives have been established for each Fund, which, together with their currencies ofdenomination, are as follows:<strong>Aberdeen</strong> <strong>Global</strong> – American Opportunities FundThe Fund’s investment objective is long-term capital growth primarily through investment in the equities andequity-related securities of companies registered in the United States of America, or in companies which derivea significant proportion of their revenues or profits from American operations or have a significant proportion oftheir assets there. The base currency of the Fund is US Dollars.<strong>Aberdeen</strong> <strong>Global</strong> – Asia Pacific FundThe Fund’s investment objective is to pursue long term total return primarily through investment in equities andequity-related securities of corporations which are registered in Asia-Pacific countries (excluding Japan), orcompanies which derive a significant proportion of their revenues or profits from Asia-Pacific countries(excluding Japan), or have a significant proportion of their assets there. The base currency of the Fund is USDollars.<strong>Aberdeen</strong> <strong>Global</strong> – Asian Smaller Companies FundThe Fund’s investment objective is to maximise the long-term total return to shareholders. The Fund willachieve its objective primarily through investment in a portfolio of equities and equity related securities ofcompanies whose market capitalisation is under US$1 billion at the time of investment and which are listed onAsia Pacific exchanges (excluding Japan), or which are listed on other exchanges (including those in the UnitedKingdom and America) and derive a significant proportion of their revenues or profits from, or have asignificant proportion of their assets in, Asia Pacific countries (excluding Japan).
