Tourism<strong>The</strong> <strong>Swedish</strong> tourist industry is today Sweden’slargest export industry and interest in Swedenas a tourist destination is continuing toincrease. <strong>The</strong> <strong>Swedish</strong> <strong>Trade</strong> <strong>Federation</strong> isactively pursuing issues regarding tourismtogether with others within the tourismindustry. <strong>The</strong> focus is on further strengtheningthe tourism industry’s role and working toinfluence the government to invest more inmarketing Sweden internationally as a touristdestination. <strong>The</strong> <strong>Swedish</strong> <strong>Trade</strong> <strong>Federation</strong>regularly examines the development ofthe tourism industry in the country’smunicipalities and presents the results in anannual report.Establishment anddevelopment<strong>The</strong> <strong>Swedish</strong> <strong>Trade</strong> <strong>Federation</strong> surveys existingand planned commercial centers in all ofthe country’s municipalities and providesguidance on proposed establishmentsthroughout Sweden. <strong>The</strong> <strong>Swedish</strong> <strong>Trade</strong><strong>Federation</strong> has considerable knowledge ofboth local and regional trade. We emphasisetrade in inquiries that will contribute to thedevelopment of trade and industry in variousregions, both large and small. <strong>The</strong> <strong>Swedish</strong><strong>Trade</strong> <strong>Federation</strong> is in regular contact withdecision makers at the regional level andinfluences politicians on specific factualmatters (such as safety, the environment,infrastructure matters, and establishment anddevelopment issues).
