TourismThe Swedish tourist industry is today Sweden’slargest export industry and interest in Swedenas a tourist destination is continuing toincrease. The Swedish Trade Federation isactively pursuing issues regarding tourismtogether with others within the tourismindustry. The focus is on further strengtheningthe tourism industry’s role and working toinfluence the government to invest more inmarketing Sweden internationally as a touristdestination. The Swedish Trade Federationregularly examines the development ofthe tourism industry in the country’smunicipalities and presents the results in anannual report.Establishment anddevelopmentThe Swedish Trade Federation surveys existingand planned commercial centers in all ofthe country’s municipalities and providesguidance on proposed establishmentsthroughout Sweden. The Swedish TradeFederation has considerable knowledge ofboth local and regional trade. We emphasisetrade in inquiries that will contribute to thedevelopment of trade and industry in variousregions, both large and small. The SwedishTrade Federation is in regular contact withdecision makers at the regional level andinfluences politicians on specific factualmatters (such as safety, the environment,infrastructure matters, and establishment anddevelopment issues).
