XTERRA WINTER - SATURDAY RACES (March 7)XTERRA SKI MOUNTAINEERING RACES - 11 a.m.Using climbing skins, riders will make their way 1,300 feetup an interesting winding route through the tree lines tothe first of four checkpoints where they’ll take off theirskins and race down to the next stop. Subsequent climbsare roughly 500 feet, then 300 feet. There will be tworace distances; 8km and 13km. Total climb for the shortcourse is 2,200’, and long course is 3,900’. AlpineTouring or Randonnee set-ups are best, but Telemark,Nordic skis, and split snowboards are permitted (skins arenecessary).Fees: $30 for citizens race (one lap);$35 for championship race (2 laps)Categories: Elite, Junior (under 19), Senior (20-39),Master (40+) Awards: Top 3 in each divisionXTERRA BY NIGHT IN DOWNTOWN OGDENFor three straight nights in downtown Ogden the XTERRAcommunity will gather to prepare, celebrate, spark oldfriendships and create new ones. The Friday night preracebriefing is at the Ogden Marriott on 24th Street, andrest assured that the gang will gather at Rooster’s BrewingCompany or one of the other great restaurants on Historic25th street for dinner. A variety of restaurants on 25th areoffering special deals & even specific meals for XTERRAparticipants.
