A “Travel Committee” made up of faculty members will serve in anadvisory role to assist students in clarifying a proposal’s educational intent.9) Don’t buy the ticket before you have an approved ISIP plan! Students arestrongly cautioned not to make travel plans for ISIP until they have gottenapproval for a specific ISIP project proposal. Also, if a student’s academiceligibility is in question, s/he should consider plans closer to home.10) ISIP Advisors. Every ISIP student must have an ISIP Advisor who is a regularmember of the GSA faculty and who can provide help and guidance to the studentin planning and carrying out an ISIP project.11) Project Mentors. Every ISIP student must have a Project Mentor who offersexperienced or professional support for the project. In some cases, a ProjectMentor will be the person with whom the student is interning or learning a skill;in others, the Mentor is the “guide on the side” who advises the student along theway. The Mentor may in some cases be the same person as the ISIP Advisor.12) Contact with Advisors. All ISIP students must maintain weekly contact withtheir ISIP Advisors. This means at least once per week a student should contacthis/her ISIP advisor.13) GSA campus. Students who are doing an approved ISIP project off campus maynot be on the GSA campus between 8:00 am and 2:35 pm during the designatedtwo-week ISIP term except to have pre-arranged meetings with their ISIPAdvisors.14) Credit for ISIP. Students receive .5 academic credit for completing an ISIPproject. Students may not, under any circumstances, be paid for work they do aspart of their ISIP project.15) ISIP grades. To receive ISIP credit, students must submit their completed ISIPNotebook, including the reflective essay and any other materials, specified in thefinal ISIP proposal. The ISIP Notebook will be graded by the ISIP Advisor (Pass,High Pass, Fail). Students may not receive partial credit for ISIP work.
