The faculty provides a unique combination of courseswhich promotes independent thinking, creativity and social consciousness.We are pleased to announce that the new home for the Faculty, theBuhler Centre, opened its doors and welcomed its first students in theFall of 2010. The occasion was marked by the presence of many esteemeddignitaries, including Governor General Michaelle Jean, a long-timeproponent of inner-city redevelopment.Scholarships and BursariesThe Foundation gifts over $1.1 million to the University every year tohelp fund student awards. The scholarships, prizes and medalsadministered by the Awards Office recognize academic excellence in avariety of ways. One event that celebrates and highlights our fundraisingefforts in support of student awards is the Annual Duff Roblin GalaDinner, the proceeds of which go towards supporting the Duff RoblinScholars Fund. This year’s event surpassed our expectations bringing inover $100,000 for our Duff Roblin Scholars.The Collegiate“the high school with a university attitude”The University of Winnipeg Collegiate is one of the most exciting andinnovative high school models in the country. In a world of continuouschange, The Collegiate faculty strives to engage students in a rigorouscurriculum that will prepare them for and encourage them to pursue alifelong love of learning. Home to more than 600 students, The Collegiateoffers high school programs and transition to post-secondary educationto students in Grades 9-12.
