When a second or third physician becomes involved inthe emergency care of an acutely ill patient requiringcontinuous bedside care, item 00081 is applicable justas it is to the attending physician who is first on thescene.00081 Emergency care – per ½ hour or major portion thereof 277.00 100.8000082 Monitoring of critically ill patients (when modification ofthe care and active intervention is not necessary) – per½ hour or major portion thereof .................................... 137.00 60.47TRAUMA ASSESSMENT AND SUPPORTTrauma – General Services:These fees are intended for the Trauma Team Leader(TTL) within the facility (or facilities) that a traumapatient may arrive at, requiring treatment.Trauma Team Leader Assessment and Support fees(P10087, P10088, and P10089) will be paid forservices to patients demonstrating any one of thefollowing criteria:Trauma team Activation Criteria:i) Shock – confirmed Blood Pressure ≤ 90 at any timein adults.ii) Airway Compromise including intubations.iii) Transfer patients from other EmergencyDepartments receiving blood to maintain vital signs.iv) Unresponsiveness – Glasgow Coma Score ≤ 8 witha mechanism suggestive of injury.v) Gunshot or other penetrating wounds to head, neck,chest, abdomen or proximal extremity (at or aboveknee or elbow).vi) Autolaunched Trauma Patient.vii)Pediatric Trauma Patient under 16 years of age.viii)Special consideration will be given for patients withsignificant co-morbidities, pregnant patients, andpatients < 5 years of age and > 65 years of age.3-16 BCMA <strong>Guide</strong> to <strong>Fee</strong>s - effective April 1, 2014
