GENERAL SERVICES - ContinuedBCMA<strong>Fee</strong> ($)Anes.Lev.MSP &WSBC<strong>Fee</strong> ($)All Trauma Assessment and Support fees include:- Consultation and assessment- subsequent examinations of the patient- family counselling- teleconference with higher level trauma facilities- ongoing and active daily surgical management oftrauma patients including but not limited to: performing tertiary and quaternary surveyphysical exams assessment and management of active andpassive body core warming care of traumatic wounds or burns (includingsuturing) not requiring a general anesthetic obtaining appropriate surgical consultations andtransfer to higher level facilities when neededcoordinating with the transplant organ retrievalteam, family counselling (related to organdonation) and obtaining consent for organprocurement- usual resuscitative procedures such asendotracheal intubation, tracheal toilet and artificialventilation- extraordinary resuscitative procedures such asresuscitative thoracotomy or emergency surgicalairway- all necessary measures for respiratory support- insertion of intravenous lines, peripheral andcentral- bronchoscopy- chest tubes- lumbar puncture- cut-downs- arterial and/or venous catheters and insertion ofSWAN-GANZ catheter- pressure infusion sets and pharmacological agents- insertion of CVP lines- defibrillation- cardio-version and usual resuscitative measures- insertion of urinary catheters and nasal gastrictubes- securing and interpretation of laboratory tests- oximetry- transcutaneous blood gases(notes continued on next page)3-18 BCMA <strong>Guide</strong> to <strong>Fee</strong>s - effective April 1, 2014
