UNL’sUniversity Libraries is partnering with the College of Journalismand Mass Communications and the Nebraska State HistoricalSociety on this “We the People” grant. The Civil War Washingtonproject examines the war’s impact on the nation’s capital. Thegrant received “We the People” designation, which recognizesprojects that advance the study, teaching and understanding ofAmerican history and principles. The grant will enable researchersto study how race, slavery and emancipation changed the capital acentury and a half ago.
