Possible areas of investment inAgriculture Research

Hybrid seed production Hybrid seeds are popularized in cotton, sunflowr, cucumber, corn, paddy and tomatoes. Around 10% area of these crops could be brought under hybridseeds, hence, tremendous market for seed. Agriculture research Sindh has land and manpower available with it,which could be utilized for the task. Capacity building and genetic resources are required for thispurpose.

Tissue culture Three tissue culture laboratories are working in Agriculture ResearchSindh at Tandojam and Mirpurkhas At present banana plantlets are being produced there. In addition to further expand program on strawberries, Dates, ornamentals There is wide market of disease free plantlets

Floriculture There is vast export potential of cutflowers, flowers & otherornamentals Agriculture Research Sindh can play a vital role on development offloriculture industries on scientific line Orchids, glades, tuberose, roses, jasmine can be grown and promotein Sindh
