The afternoon is free for exploringmore of the charming Danish capital individually.DAY 3 (SUNDAY): COPENHAGEN-OSLOAfter a leisurely day in Copenhagen we embark in theafternoon on the DFDS Seaways overnight ferry boundfor Oslo. The ferry offers a wide choice of restaurants,bars, shops and much more. In the evening we enjoy asumptuous dinner on board while cruising up the Kattegat.DAY 4 (MONDAY): OSLOFounded in 1048 Oslo is Scandinavia’s oldest capitaland today it is a very pleasant and casual city with aninteresting jumble of historical and modern architecture.Upon arrival in Oslo we start the morning sightseeing tour.We enjoy a walk around the Frogner Park decorated withthe unique sculptures of Gustav Vigeland and. we pass bythe City Hall and the main street, Karl Johan, leading tothe Royal Palace. The balance of the day is free for exploring moreof the Viking capital.DAY 5 (TUESDAY): OSLO-BERGENIn the morning we continue our journey to the beautifulHallingdal Valley. We arrive to Geilo, a small townsurrounded by mountains, and continue into the mountainplateau of Hardanger. En route we pass the famous Waterfallof Voringsfossen and after crossing Hardangerjord byferry we arrive to Bergen in the afternoon. In the afternoon we are exploring more of thestunning Norwegian fjord capital on our own.DAY 7 (THURSDAY): BERGEN-SOGNEFJORD-GEILOToday we continue through the fjord region with its formidablewater-drowned glacial valleys, flanked by impossible ruggedterrain to Stalheim, offering a stunning view down theStalheim Gorge. From here we cruise over the Sognefjord, thelargest fjord in Norway. In the afternoon we arrive to back toGeilo, check in at Hotel Bardola **** or similar. Dinner atthe hotel.DAY 8 (FRIDAY): GEILO-KARLSTADAfter breakfast we leave Geilo and continue through theValdres area, where we enter the country of Varmland inSweden. Throughout the balance of the day we drive throughtypical Swedish landscapes with fertile farmland, blue lakesand thick forests, which evoke an atmosphere of intriguingfairytales. In the afternoon, we arrive to Karlstad and checkin at Hotel Clarion Plaza**** or similar.DAY 9 (SATURDAY): KARLSTAD-STOCKHOLMOur tour continues with a scenic drive towards Stockholm,which we reach in the early afternoon. Stockholm – thebeauty on the water – is undoubtedly one of the most beautifulcapitals in the world, built on 14 islands and protected fromthe sea by Skargarden, the Stockholm archipelago. Theafternoon sightseeing tour takes us to the Old Town with theRoyal Palace, Stockholm Cathedral and the city centre withits famous City Hall. The ferry offers a lot of facilities includingrestaurants, cafes, night club and much more. While we travelslowly down the archipelago past numerous islands and isletswe enjoy a Scandinavian buffet dinner on board the ship.DAY 12 (TUESDAY): RIGAIn the morning, upon arrival to Riga harbor we aretransferred to our hotel, Check in at Hotel Radisson BluLatvija**** or similar. The afternoon is best spent forgetting the first impressions of the Latvian capital.DAY 13 (WEDNESDAY): RIGABefore we get acquainted with Riga we have thepossibility of discovering medieval Latvia. The optionaltour for this morning takes us to the stunning sceneryof the Gauja National Park and the town of Sigulda.We listen to the medieval Latvian legend of the Roseof Turaida and see the ruins of the Episcopal Castleand of the Castle of the Knights of the Sword before wereturn to Riga. The afternoon offers an optional visitto the Ethnographical Open Air Museum, a spaciousexposition of 18th century country life. The eveningoffers an optional organ concert at the Dome Cathedral.DAY 14 (THURSDAY): RIGARiga, founded in 1201 by the German bishop Albert,is the largest of the three Baltic capitals and boasts areal kaleidoscope of architectural styles. The walkingtour of the Old Town includes Riga Castle, the DomeCathedral, St. Peter’s Church, the Swedish Gate, theThree Brothers, the Large and Small Guilds and theFreedom Monument. The afternoon is reserved for anoptional visit to Jurmala, the vibrant Latvian sea resort,famous for its wooden architecture and sandy beaches.In the evening we enjoy a Latvian dinner at the stylishRestaurant La Boheme.DAY 15 (FRIDAY): RIGA-TALLINNThe tour continues along the coastal highway tothe Estonian summer resort of Parnu. We do a shorttour of the resort before we continue through theNorth Estonian land of forests and arrive in Tallinnearly afternoon, check-in at the Hotel Radisson BluOlympia**** or similar.DAY 16 (SATURDAY): TALLINNTallinn is a charming blend of medieval tranquility andmodern urban life. The medieval Old Town is a busyplace in the summer with its many shops, galleries,souvenir markets, outdoor cafés and restaurants. Thesightseeing tour takes us around the old medieval citywalls and into the Old Town where we see ToompeaCastle, Dome Church, Alexander Nevsky Cathedral,medieval Old Town Hall and Great Guild Hall.
