The Adizone scheme equates to £100,000 ofOlympic Legacy benefit for the people of <strong>Chelmsford</strong>.Increase Volunteering Opportunities - According to the most recent Active Peoples Survey 6.2% ofpeople volunteer for at least an hour a week. More volunteering opportunities will be created by linking withnational initiatives, such as Sport England's Sportsmakers. We will continue to work closely with key partners,such as <strong>Chelmsford</strong> CVS, and to develop our own training programmes for young people in areas such asevent management.Take Advantage of National Initiatives and Opportunities for Funding - The <strong>Council</strong> aims to makethe most of the range of initiatives and opportunities linked to the London 2012 Olympic and ParalympicGames. These include Places People Play, Sportivate and the School Games.Continue to Increase Participation in Sport and Art - In part, this will be achieved by promoting andsupporting local sports and arts clubs by showcasing talent at <strong>Council</strong> events. Hugely successful sportsprogrammes that originated in <strong>Chelmsford</strong> have since been rolled out nationally, such as 'Mud, Sweat andGears,' will continue to be supported. The <strong>Council</strong> will also continue to invest in a wide range of activitiesfor young and old alike to ensure that people continue to stay active long after London 2012 has passed.Increase <strong>Chelmsford</strong>'s Profile - 'Sparks will Fly: Essex Finale & <strong>Chelmsford</strong> Welcomes the London 2012Olympic Torch Relay' will provide (inter)national media coverage and promote the importance of outdoorevents in the borough to ensure <strong>Chelmsford</strong> City is recognised on the International stage.14<strong>Be</strong> <strong>Moved</strong>
