P O S T S C R I P Tdollars, with naturally an upwardtendency in price in sympathywith the recent rapid enhancementin the value of all maps,prints and books relating to theHistory of the City of New York.For an impression from theoriginal copper-plate of WilliamBradford an offer of twenty-fivehundred dollars has been severaltimes declined.The copies all bear the samecaption, viz.: " A Plan of the Cityof New York from an Actual Survey,Made by James Lyne." Theyare the same in width, namely :22 inches, but only 17 instead of17^ inches in height, as is theoriginal.No. I. Inscription at foot ofMap : " Facsimile of an original32

This is apparentlythe first copy made of theoriginal Map and it is the mostaccurate and the most carefullyexecuted.A copy of this facsimile wasmade by order of the Corporationof the City of New York, toaccompa<strong>ny</strong> a report on the GreatPier of the Committee on Docksin 1836. Hay ward's address onthis copy is changed to 48 NassauStreet.No. 2. Inscription the same ason No. I, except that the address,"No. I Cortlandt Street,New York, 1834," is erased.33
