Vietnam Immersion Experience for Year 10 CBGA project – redevelopment of Factory Wing Fitting out of the new Theatre Major upgrade to whole school electricity supply Planning for <strong>St</strong>age 2 building works Ongoing programmed maintenanceFacilities<strong>St</strong> <strong>Pius</strong> provides the following teaching space facilities: 30 general purpose classrooms, 6 science laboratories, 4 computerlaboratories, 4 wood/metal/drawing workshops, 2 food technology kitchens, 3 art rooms, a textiles room, a marine science centre, amusic computer room and a drama room. There is a well-equipped Library with computer and audio-visual facilities. The FactoryWing of the school was totally refurbished with 21 st Century teaching and learning facilities. This includes a 600 seat Theatre,Theatrette, Hospitality Kitchen, Café, Hairdressing Salon, 2 Music Rooms, a Drama Room, a Recording <strong>St</strong>udio, 2 Art Rooms, aComputer Room, 5 GPLA classrooms, several open plan learning spaces and 2 staff areas. Until destroyed by fire in June <strong>2012</strong>,the Sr Marie Hall acted as a good meeting place for whole Year Meetings, parent information nights, P&F Meetings and as an extrateaching space, useful for audio-visual presentations. <strong>St</strong>aff are provided for with a <strong>St</strong>aff <strong>St</strong>udy and separate <strong>St</strong>aff Common Room.Excellent photocopying and printing facilities are available to <strong>St</strong>aff. The Administration building contains the Main AdministrationOffice, the <strong>St</strong>udent Services Office, <strong>St</strong>udent Coordinator Offices, <strong>School</strong> Counsellor’s Office and <strong>School</strong> Executive Offices. Theschool grounds are extensive and allow the huge student population sufficient room to spread out at break times. A COLAoriginally used as a Bus Shelter was extended and refurbished to enable it to be used as a sports area as well. Sport is wellcatered for on campus with basketball courts, cricket nets, playing fields and a large sand-pit used for beach volleyball and a hostof other sporting activities.
