Promoting the <strong>Sappi</strong> brand and design and print<br />
creativity<br />
We run a number of local and global initiatives focused on promoting the<br />
<strong>Sappi</strong> brand, promoting creativity within the design and print communities and<br />
on educating these communities about the benefits of paper.<br />
Ideas that Matter<br />
The world is full of ideas. Making those ideas reality is what the road to success is all about – and is<br />
also the strategy behind <strong>Sappi</strong>’s unique Ideas that Matter (ITM) global corporate CSR programme.<br />
ITM uses print to make a difference by bringing ideas to life, awarding grants to graphic designers –<br />
from undergraduates to professionals and companies – for the development of creative print-based<br />
communication campaigns to promote social, environmental and humanitarian causes.<br />
Since inception, ITM has funded over 500 non-profit projects, contributing US$11 million worldwide to<br />
causes that enhance our lives, our communities and our planet. The programme is based on <strong>Sappi</strong>’s<br />
belief that designers’ creative ideas can have an impact beyond the aesthetic and that those ideas can<br />
be a powerful force for social good. Ideas that Matter is yet another way that <strong>Sappi</strong> is advancing the art<br />
of print as an integral component of marketing communications and supporting customers in ways that<br />
will make a meaningful difference.
