High Heels Logistics
Autoportret
When at the beginning of the twentieth century suffragettes began to fight for women’s
rights, nobody could expect that there will be business areas in which women will
be able to compete with men on the same terms. Today, the equality of gender
rights is a standard in Europe, but still women in senior positions, working in industries
dominated by men, are rare. However, it does not apply to Raben Group.
Here nearly 200 women occupy leading positions in the company by managing
large teams, taking strategic decisions and controlling huge budgets.
My professional career in Raben Ukraine
started more than 6 years ago from the
position of Groupage Shipment Specialist
in the International Distribution Department.
At that time the company had just
started conquering the market of logistics
services but already managed to establish
itself as a strong business partner. Back in
2005 there were less than 30 Employees
in the company, and now – more than
600. To grow and move forward with the
company was an invaluable experience for
me. Working in a fast growing organization
required great responsibility, dedication
and enthusiasm from all – be it a manager
or a specialist. I believe that good results
can be only achieved by working together.
I would say that I am lucky because I work
with people who not only support me but
whom I can trust. We can achieve a lot
with such a team!
I started work at the logistics company in
2002, after my studies, as a Warehouse
Administrator. As I wanted to improve
my qualifications and knowledge,
I started studying management. In 2006,
through internal recruitment, I moved
to the Customer Service Department
where, after 3 years, I got the position
of Service Manager of one of the key
Customers. My motto is to set intermediate
targets for myself, in order to
achieve those, that seem to be really
difficult to achieve. But this is of course
the future. I would like to start a family
and experience the joy of maternity.
Sometimes it is really hard to combine
everything but I believe it is worth it.
When I started work in Raben Polska, the
dilemma of combining the career with the
care for children was already behind me
because my daughter was already adult.
However, there were still open questions
such as equal pay, promotion opportunity
or the issue of “women 40+” at work. In all
these aspects I have had some positive
experiences. Despite the fact that many
different changes have taken place in
the Group, the company policy towards
employed women is constant. I am verification
on the basis of professional tasks and
achievements of the branch and the region
I manage. I have never had the feeling
that my gender has a negative impact on
my career development or on achieving the
objectives.
