Page 2 of 4Exam SecurityYou may not keep any exam m<strong>at</strong>erials after <strong>the</strong> exam. No exam m<strong>at</strong>erials may be removedfrom <strong>the</strong> exam room. We will prosecute <strong>the</strong> <strong>the</strong>ft of exam m<strong>at</strong>erials to <strong>the</strong> fullest extent possible.Recording Your AnswersThe exam is web based so <strong>the</strong>re are no paper exams or answer sheets. Your exam results arerecorded electronically and by <strong>the</strong> test center proctor.Passing ScoreEach exam is a closed-book exam. Each exam is a multiple choice exam varying in length from35 questions for c<strong>at</strong>egory exams, 50 questions for <strong>the</strong> Core Manual, Priv<strong>at</strong>e <strong>Applic<strong>at</strong>or</strong> andAerial Reciprocal exams and 125 questions for <strong>the</strong> full aerial exam. You will have up to fiftyminutes to one (1) hour to complete each exam with <strong>the</strong> exception of <strong>the</strong> full aerial exam whichwill allow two (2) hours. The minimum passing score for each commercial exam is 80% correct.The minimum passing score for priv<strong>at</strong>e applic<strong>at</strong>or exams is 70% correct.You should come to <strong>the</strong> exam room prepared to remain until <strong>the</strong> conclusion of <strong>the</strong> exam. If youleave <strong>the</strong> exam room during <strong>the</strong> exam for any reason (for example, to e<strong>at</strong>, drink, use <strong>the</strong>restroom or smoke) your exam will be concluded and all exam m<strong>at</strong>erials must be returned.Before leaving <strong>the</strong> exam room you must follow <strong>the</strong> required exam check-out procedures given toyou by <strong>the</strong> exam proctor. If you are scheduled to take more than one exam, you may beallowed to leave <strong>the</strong> exam room between exams. (<strong>DMACC</strong> is a smoke-free environment.Smoking is not permitted anywhere on campus including parking lots.)Special Accommod<strong>at</strong>ionsThe exam site is handicapped accessible. If you feel you need special accommod<strong>at</strong>ionspursuant to <strong>the</strong> Americans with Disabilities Act, you must document and submit your request inwriting so th<strong>at</strong> it is received by <strong>the</strong> <strong>Pesticide</strong> Bureau, Iowa Department of Agriculture not lessthan twenty-one (21) days prior to <strong>the</strong> d<strong>at</strong>e of your exam. We will notify you before exam day ifyour request is approved or disapproved.Items You Must Bring to <strong>the</strong> ExamPrior to sitting for any exam you will be required to bring and to temporarily surrender to anexam proctor your valid, government issued, photo identific<strong>at</strong>ion document. Acceptable photoidentific<strong>at</strong>ion documents include a driver’s license (or a non-driver photo identific<strong>at</strong>iondocument), passport or immigr<strong>at</strong>ion green card. The driver’s license or non-driver photoidentific<strong>at</strong>ion document must be issued by <strong>the</strong> Iowa Department of Transport<strong>at</strong>ion or <strong>the</strong>equivalent agency for non-residents. Your photo identific<strong>at</strong>ion document will be returned to you<strong>at</strong> <strong>the</strong> end of <strong>the</strong> exam after you have completed <strong>the</strong> required check-out procedures.Items You May Not Bring to <strong>the</strong> ExamDo not bring any of <strong>the</strong> following items to <strong>the</strong> exam:• Any books, study or training m<strong>at</strong>erials, or review notes.• Any type of writing pad, loose leaf binder, notebook, or o<strong>the</strong>r source of paper.
