Dear Swim Academy Parent/Guardian,Welcome to Aura Leisure Centres. Thank you for enrolling your child intoour Aura Swim Academy. We look forward to working closely with you andyour child to continue their swimming development in water confidence,water awareness and water safety through our 10 level programme.The following important notes below will assist you and your child duringtheir swimming lessons:LEVELSThere are 10 levels to our Aura Swim Academy. Each of these levelscomprise of an 8 week course. This allows our dedicated teaching staff towork closely with your child to transition them through the programme.CLASS TIMEYour child’s lesson is for 40 minutes. Your child is required to leave the poolarea immediately after his/her lesson. Our teachers are not able tosupervise any children. Our teaching staff will collect your child from theshower area prior to the commencement of their lesson. At the end of thelesson your child will be returned back to the shower area for you to collectin person.PREPARING YOUR CHILDTo assist us with our pool policies we require that all children must precleansein the shower and use the toilets prior to lessons. Parents arerequested to use the blue foot protection wear located at the entrance to thechanging area before entering. This allows us to continue to keep high levelsof cleanliness within our pool deck and changing areas.CHANGING AREAAll personal belongings are not to be left inside the cubicles duringswimming lessons. The built in lockers provided allow all your personalbelongings to be kept safe during your child’s swimming lessons.ASSESSMENTSThese take place during Week 6 and your child’s teacher will advise themwith a laminate for rebooking into the appropriate level. This laminate is tobe presented to our Member Service Desk and our friendly representativewill book and confirm you child’s place for their next set of swim lessons. Atthe end of the 8 Week Term your child will receive a certificate for the levelthe have completed. This allows the teacher to inform the child where extrapractice is required and where the strengths and improvements have beenmade during the term.

PRIORITY BOOKINGRebooking for lessons takes place on week 6 of each term. By rebooking onweek 6 you secure your child’s place in the next term. If rebooking is notmade on the day of your child’s swimming lesson on week 6 then we cannotguarantee that you will get a place in the following term of swimminglessons. You will also be notified through signage on site and by textmessage. Please liaise with the member service representative to ensure wehave the correct mobile number for communicating with you. If you havemore than one child in our swimming lessons programme you may pay forthe first child in full to hold all or any other bookings. All non-paid bookingsmust be paid for in full prior to the commencement of the first lesson of thenew term. We also have vouchers for sale in values of €5, €10, €20 & €50which can be used for full or part payment for your child’s swimminglessons. Please ask at the member service representative desk for moreinformation on these vouchers.PRACTICINGThe old saying ‘Practice Makes Perfect’ is so true. Here at Aura weencourage extra swim practice outside swim lesson times. We have ourPractice Cards which allows the whole family to swim during allocatedpublic open sessions for €9.99. These cards can be collected from ourMember Service Desk and Swim Coordinator. Please be sure to check ourtimetable on our website www.auraleisure.ie or pick up a leaflet for openpublic sessions and family fun.UNABLE TO ATTEND A LESSONShould you be unable to attend a lesson due to sickness - a doctor’s notemust be provided for credit to be applied to the next set of lessons. For anyother reason please be aware that due to class capacities and the structureof classes we are unable to facilitate any change of class time and days.Should you require any further assistance please contact the SwimCoordinator.QUESTIONS/CONCERNSTo allow us to deliver a high standard of teaching within the allocated 40minute slot we would request that any questions or concerns regarding yourchild and their progress be taken to either the Swim Coordinator or amessage to be left with at our Member Service Desk. Either party can thenfollow up with parents/guardians over any questions and concerns thatmay have arisen.Should you require any further information, please feel free to speak withyour on site Swim Coordinator or Operations Manager.
