ContiTech conveyor<br />

belts protect the environment<br />

Technological solutions of equal benefit to users as well as to<br />

the environment are the focus of the ContiTech Conveyor Belt<br />

Group’s presentation at the bauma 2010. Here energy-optimized<br />

conveyor belts, which contribute to a reduction in CO 2<br />

emissions, play just as big a role as does energy generation<br />

in downhill transport or the replacement of heavy trucks with<br />

conveyor systems. The RopeCon® system, which functions in<br />

much the same way as a ropeway so it requires only a few tower<br />

stations, also contributes to environmental protection: It<br />

eliminates the need to build roads through rough terrain and<br />

thus the need to cut down trees.<br />

In addition, with the enclosed SICON® conveyor belt ContiTech<br />

is demonstrating how sensitive goods can be protected from<br />

moisture and contamination while being conveyed and how<br />

spillage and dust emissions can be prevented. One new product<br />

is the cold-resistant version of the anti-stick ContiClean<br />

A-H conveyor belt, which can be used at temperatures as low<br />

as -<strong>25</strong>° C while at the same time maintaining its flexibility. The<br />

belt can be troughed, making it ideal for other application<br />

fields.<br />
