Standing in over 200 acres of its ownparkland to the south of Llandudno withspectacular views of Snowdonia and ConwyCastle, <strong>Bodysgallen</strong> <strong>Hall</strong> provides all thatis best in country house hospitality.Beautiful gardens include a rare 17th centuryparterre of box hedges filled with sweetscentedherbs, a rockery with a cascade, awalled rose garden, and several follies.


The 17th century house has been skilfully andsympathetically restored by Historic HouseHotels Limited since 1980, and given to theNational Trust in 2008.Two of the finest rooms are the large entrancehall and first floor drawing room both withoak panelling, splendid fireplaces and stonemullioned windows. They are furnished withantiques and fine pictures.


The hotel has two restaurants, The Dining Room,which holds 3AA Rosettes, and a bistro called1620, named after the oldest build-date of theMain <strong>Hall</strong>. Imaginative food is prepared by theaward-winning chef using fresh local producewhenever available.There are fifteen extremely comfortable bedrooms inthe hotel, each individually decorated, including four‘Principal Suites’ (Mostyn Suite, previous page).


Sixteen cottages, with picturesque names like Pineapple Lodge, CastleView and Gingerbread House are situated in the grounds, and provide selfcontainedaccommodation for guests preferring a greater degree of privacy.The hotel also provides designated access for all.The former stable block adjacent to the hotel, now known as the WynnRooms, has been converted into rooms for meetings and private dining, idealfor conferences, cocktail parties, wedding civil ceremonies/partnerships andother important occasions.


<strong>Bodysgallen</strong>’s len’s Health and Fitness Spa, approachedby a short walk through the garden, has beenconverted from the original stone built farm. Itcontains a large swimming pool, spa bath, steamroom, sauna, relaxation room and club room wheremeals and drinks are served.The superb gymnasium has all the latest equipmentand fully qualified fitness instructors are on duty.The Spa also has five beauty treatment rooms withqualified therapists providing the latest treatmentsusing Anne Sémonin (exclusive to <strong>Bodysgallen</strong>in Wales) and Decléor, and is able to adviseclients on the treatments which they will findmost beneficial. There is a programme of healthand beauty days and half days, and a range ofproducts are available for sale.Hotel guests have unlimited use of the Spa duringtheir stay at Bodysagallen <strong>Hall</strong>, and there arecottages suites situated in the immediate vicinityfor those who would like to be close to the Spa.Guests can also play croquet in the gardens. Thereare several golf courses near the hotel, and ridingcan be arranged nearby.

Castles atConwy, Caernarfon, Harlech and Beaumaris arewithin easy reach. National Trust properties atPlas Newydd on Anglesey, Penrhyn Castle and thebeautiful gardens at Bodnant are a “must”, and so areBetws y Coed and the spectacular Swallow Falls.At Blaenau Ffestiniog one can visit relics of theIndustrial Revolution at preserved slate quarriesand ride on the narrow gauge steam railway thatserved them.The Victorian resort of Llandudno is about a mileaway and a drive round the Great Orme providesmagnificent views of the North Wales coastline andthe Isle of Anglesey.But for many visitors the best part of being inNorth Wales is just driving along secluded lanes andnarrow mountain roads, leaving the car to explorefootpaths and bridleways, and discover some of themost attractive scenery in Europe.
