The first was “Did you know in <strong>Black</strong><strong>History</strong>?’’ by Eastside School of Information Technology student Breann Davis. The second, which focusedon Billie Holiday, was by John F. Kennedy School of Education & Training student Niuverys Rodriguez.After that, four students from Don Bosco Technology Academy - Jeryka Morales, Nahid Miah, Ruth DelaniaGonzalea <strong>and</strong> Christrina Gales-Brooks - gave the audience a rendition of Etta James’ “I’d Rather be Blind,’’a rap about equality <strong>and</strong> no segregation <strong>and</strong> the poem, Peace.’’Next, students from kindergarten, first <strong>and</strong> second grades at School 8 sang “Martin Luther King’’ whileusing American sign language.That was followed by Norman S. Weirs School students singing “In the Morning Lord” <strong>and</strong> “You Can See aBrighter Day,” two original compositions by Kelvin Quince.School 7 students performed “Sing <strong>Celebrate</strong> for Martin Luther King, Jr.’’And the finale featured the jazz ensemble from the Rosa L.
