The “Call” wascreated to help ensurethat ancestors of veterans,and <strong>Canadian</strong>s as a whole,understand and value thesacrifices made on theirbehalf in the wars of th<strong>is</strong>century.There were six teamscompeting in the competition:Eastern PassageEducational Centre,Astral Drive Junior High,Georges P. Vanier JuniorHigh, Leslie ThomasJunior High, SackvilleHeights Junior High and,<strong>for</strong> the first time, a cadetteam from 117 Westphal/Preston Army Cadets.The teams compete byanswering questionsabout our <strong>Canadian</strong> Militaryh<strong>is</strong>tory.Teams advanced accordingto the number ofgames they won.Eastern Passage andLeslie Thomas JuniorHigh had two wins andplayed in the championshipround with EPIECwinning the Gold and$300 first prize. LeslieThomas took the Silverand $200. Georges P.Vanier and Astral Drivehad one win each andplayed in the Bronzegame with GeorgesP. Vanier winning theBronze and $100 prize.All participants andadv<strong>is</strong>ors were presentedwith certificates.First place team alsoreceived plaque to be d<strong>is</strong>playedin their school.Zone 15 thanks moderatorHoward D’Arcy,floor manager JohnMacKinnon, host branchDieppe Branch 90 andPresident Jim McLeod,the Ladies Auxiliary,students, adv<strong>is</strong>ors andvolunteers.Eastern Passage Educational Centre took firstplace in the Zone 15 Call To Remembrance competitionheld April 1. The team included studentsRobert Brown, All<strong>is</strong>on Merrick, Shelby Rondeau,Kevin Waite, Alex Wilson, Jason Youn; adv<strong>is</strong>orsJulie Wilson and Jennifer Garnier.Leslie Thomas Jr. High placed second in theZone 15 Call To Remembrance Competition. Theteam included students Jordan Berringer, ColtenCameron, Rachelle Hill, Andre Dav<strong>is</strong>, LeightonCroft and Joseph Green. Team adv<strong>is</strong>or was ColinSteward.Thanks to the dedication of the adv<strong>is</strong>ors, Zone 15 had six teams competein the zone’s Call to Remembrance 2010 competition.
