Kristin Martinez’sLift Team assembled Testing Week Care packagesfor all the teachers and staff at BriarmeadowElementary. Our wonderful woodshop friendscut over 100 wooden apples as gifts for teachersat both campuses, and a generous friendof St. Luke’s provided our students with fivebooks apiece as part of a nationwide initiativeto encourage summer reading. Betty alongwith her husband, Bill, is a new resident at TheTerrace in West University and they are both recentnew members of St. Luke’s.Betty is originally from Kentucky and was educated atBowling Green University. For most of her career, shewas a school teacher in the El Paso Public Schools.She has painted throughout her life, studyingdifferent mediums and expanding her styles ofexpression. Betty says that her favorite medium atthis point in her life is watercolor, and that when shemoved to Houston she brought only her watercolorpaints.
