ASAM AE MCD-2MC
(ASAP2)
Description
ASAM MCD-2MC (ASAP2) is a description
format for calibration values and signals of an
Electronic Control Unit (ECU), its
communication methods and interfaces.
In contrast to ASAM MCD-2D (ODX) which is
service-based, ASAP2 contains addressbased
information of the ECU code. Therefore
it might be necessary to update an ASAP2 file
with the compile and link run during ECU
software development process.
ASAP2 contains all relevant information for
calibration and testing ECUs which allow
direct memory access.
ASAM MCD-2MC (ASAP2) in the market
The standard is widely spread in the market.
Nearly every ECU project worldwide is using this
variable description format. The standard has
been implemented in all market relevant tools.
Quality assurance
ASAM e. V. offers a checker (ASAP2/A2L),
which can help avoiding incompatible
interpretations between producing and
consuming tools. A demo version is available
free of charge. Please contact the ASAM office.
ASAM AE MCD-2 (FIBEX)
(Field Bus Data Exchange Format)
Description
FIBEX is an XML based exchange format
proposed for data exchange between tools
that deal with message-oriented bus
communication systems (tools for bus
configuration, parameterization, design,
monitoring, simulation, …). Currently FIBEX
supports the following bus types: CAN,
FlexRay, LIN, MOST and gateways between
these physical links.
