activity report from
ASAM AE MBFS
(Model Based
Function Specification)
Description
The goal of the MBFS project was to establish
the MSR MEGMA Automotive Library
Specification as ASAM standard. Therefore
the existing specification was reviewed and
reworked. Beside this tool independent block
set specification a Matlab/Simulink based
specification including a reference
implementation of the block set was developed.
The benefit is to build a consolidated block
set upon the ASAM AE MBFS specification as
widely accepted and established block set,
which should enable a seamless exchange of
functional specifications between different
organizations.
Current activities
The ASAM AE MBFS V1.0 specification and
reference implementation was released in
December 2006.
ASAM AE MBFS in the market
A Matlab/Simulink reference implementation
is part of the delivery of the ASAM AE MBFS
standard. The reference implementation can
be used directly or taken as reference for
company specific block set implementations.
Quality assurance
The specifications were checked by a review
within the workgroup members. The reference
implementation was checked against
specification by using defined test vectors.
The reference implementation or variations of
this are actually in use in the development
departments of several workgroup members.
