In t h e Ne w s .......In the News......in the news......In the News......In the News.....Sundre, Alberta Canadian Pro Rodeo RescheduledThe second scheduled CPRA rodeo for this past weekend, theSundre Pro Rodeo, was postponed due to the flood conditions thathave prevailed in much of southern Alberta through recent days.Sundre has been re-scheduled to August 23-25.The Greatest OutdoorShow on Earth Will Go OnThe Stampede Park in Calgary, Alberta, home of the CalgaryStampede, was recently covered in flood waters that affected manyareas in Southern Alberta; however, the show must go on so accordingto their Facebook updates, the Stampede will continue onas schedule on July 5-14, 2013.This is the statement posted on the Calgary Stampede Facebookpage: The Spirt Of This City Cannot Be Washed AwayAs floodwaters recede, community spirit continues to run high.The power of people is rebuilding this community--along withStampede Park. These are just afew of the over 70 riding age 2 & 3 year old horses available.More information, photos and videos of the horses will be putup on their website on the Horse Sale page as they become available.Combs Making Great RecoveryWhile Liz Combs was saddling her great horse Skeeter (Bogies LilSkeeter) to compete at the Reno Rodeo, he spooked and as she wastrying to untie him he jumped and pushed her against the trailer.She sustained a head injury which required surgery.Here is the latest update from Liz Combs via Facebook whichsounds like encouraging news:“Hello, I thought I would give everyone an update! I am doingso much better today and it is obvious that it is only by the graceof God. I have never felt more blessed than I do right now. Eventhe doctors cannot believe the recovery I am making after such abad bleed. I have absolutely no brain damage!! God is so good andI am counting it all joy. Thanks to my great friends Emily (Efurd)who called 911 right away and essentially helped save my life. Jesushas been taking care of me.
