Based on this, the workshop will address the following questions:• Which types of value spaces for your enterprise by 2020?• Which type of scenarios should be considered(Markets, Common platforms, hybrid forms)?• How concretely the next generation of organizational modelswill impact the IS governance?• How digital resources will contribute /lead such a transformation?• What are the implications for profiling the next IS function?W2REALIZING THE ROI OF A SOCIAL MEDIACHAIR: ALAIN WAUTERS, HEAD OF IT NETWORKS & CONNECTIVITY, NOKIA SIEMENS NETWORKPETER BAL, CIO & VP ADMINISTRATIVE PROCESS OPTIMIZATION, WABCO EUROPEWe all like to be “liked”; but how does it translate to business value?• Which usages: collaborative projects, B2C …?• Web analytics: is it for the marketing team or with the CIO?• Defining the right metrics• Which business attributes are impacted?• A good governance model and associated policies might help; how to define these?• Is it only about monetary return?• How to successfully integrate social media into business systems?W3DRIVING VALUE THROUGH INNOVATION: HOW CIOS MUST LEAD?CHAIR: JAN BOLL, VP & CIO DOWNSTREAM, SHELLIn a digital world, CIOs have the opportunity to become the change agents of the Digital Enterprise, providingfoundations for the entire business spans.• Redefining the role of the CIO: where do you stand in the business strategy board?• Attracting entrepreneurs and turning them into “intrepreneurs”• Identifying opportunities for meaningful innovation• Outsourcing, Cloud, is the “T” in IT still a critical focus for CIOs?• Should there be a Chief Digital Officer? If yes where?

W4HOW TO GEAR YOUR ORGANIZATION IN TERMS OF COMPETENCIES,PROFILES AND LIFELONG EDUCATION ON A PATH TO DIGITAL SUCCESS?CHAIR: ROB PRINGLE, DIRECTOR OF GLOBAL IT, GAZPROM MARKETING & TRADINGCompanies are not at the same stage of digital maturity, requiring different talents and organizational structures. In a competitive European market lacking an adequate supply of talent, how do you attract and securethe right people to deliver?• Gearing up the organization to meet objectives: which profiles, jobs and competencies?• How to get the right competencies on new trends: Big Data, Enterprise Architects• Balance between business and process expertise, what are the drivers to insourceor outsource?• Leveraging skills and experience across generations: early adopters, innovators vs. more traditional?W5THE BUSINESS IMPACT OF MOBILITY AND SMART COMPUTING IN BOTHINTERNAL OPERATIONS AND B2C RELATIONSHIPSCHAIR: ALESSANDRO MUSUMECI, GROUPE CIO, FERROVIE DELLO STATO ITALIANEIn the green fields opened by Smart Computing technologies and the mobility wave, CIOs need more than ever adeep understanding of the business environment as there is no such thing as a standardized architecture. Not only smartphone, tablet, PC but above all solutions, applications• How to combine the both approaches (the standard one, still needed in many cases and the new one, fundamentalto exploit the value of the these new models) ?• How is this changing the CIO life and role?• Forward thinking: does building an AppStore bring value to the business?

ORGANISED BY FINAKIFOR THE EUROPEAN CIO ASSOCIATIONThe concept emerged from discussions at the founding event in 2001, where CIOs in attendanceexpressed the desire to have a stress-free non-competitive environment – created by CIOsfor CIOs – which would allow them to maintain close links all year round. The vision whichemerged was one of a user-side pan-European CIO Network which would provide a much neededplatform for exchanges not only between members but also between members and theirbusiness partners.THE TWO FOUNDING ORGANIZATIONS• CIGREF (Club Informatique des Grandes Entreprises Françaises), a FrenchCIO body representing over 150 major French companies from all industrysectors, whose aim is to promote the use of information systems as a meansof generating value (www.cigref.fr).• FINAKI , the technology events specialist, pioneer and leader in France, Germanyand Italy for the past 25 years. (www.finaki.com).have now transferred the structure to the European CIO Association, a not for profit, internationalassociation under Belgian law, incorporated early 2012. The association brings together individualmembers and national CIO bodies:NATIONAL CIO BODIESAICA (Italy)Corporate IT Forum (United Kingdom)CIOforum Belgian Business (Belgium)TUBIYAD (Turkey)CIO Forum (Sweden)VOICE e.V. (Germany)CIO Platform (The Netherlands)VISZ (Hungary)The aim of the European CIO Association is to provide CIOs of Europe’s largest companies with themeans of sharing their experience and to allow them to raise awareness of key IT issues. It alsoprovides a mouthpiece for users vis-à-vis suppliers, institutions and regulatory authorities, thusenabling them to voice the collective position of European CIOs.The association encompasses the differences that define European CIOs. The network’s strength

lies in its ability to learn from these very differences, to develop beyond national boundaries and tooffer a multi-dimensional approach to the issues CIOs all face. The association is governed by a Board of Directors, representing the National CIO Bodies, as wellas the members. The mission of the Board is to define the Association’s strategy and to make surethe structure and original goals prevail.
