Kent is currently the 51 st AMDSCommander and the Chief of Aerospace Medicine, 51 st MedicalGroup, <strong>Osan</strong> <strong>Air</strong> <strong>Base</strong>, Republic of Korea.Lt Col Kent was commissioned into the <strong>Air</strong> Force as a physicianin August 1996 after graduating with a BS in Chemistry fromAngelo State University. He received his Doctorate of Medicinefrom the University of Texas Medical Branch, in Galveston,Texas. He completed his residency in Family Medicine fromMethodist Hospitals of Dallas and entered active duty in Augustof 1998. During his first assignment at Pope AFB, NC as aFamily Medicine physician he attended Flight Surgeon trainingand became the officer in charge of the Flight Medicine Clinic.He was then assigned as the Flight Medicine Flight Commanderfor the 18 th Wing, Kadena <strong>Air</strong> <strong>Base</strong>, Japan. During this period,Lt Col Kent also provided medical direction and treatmentdecisions for the only military hyperbaric oxygen chamber in thepacific. He next completed a Master’s degree in Public Healthat the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences andthe USAF Residency in Aerospace Medicine (RAM) at the USAFSchool of Aerospace Medicine in 2009. Prior to this assignment he served as the Chief of AerospaceMedicine at the 375th Medical Group, Scott <strong>Air</strong> Force <strong>Base</strong>, Illinois. During that period he was recognized bythe Director of the Illinois Department of Public Health for his contributions during the H1N1 pandemic.
