<strong>Jesler</strong> <strong>Mezidor</strong> <strong>was</strong> <strong>born</strong> <strong>in</strong> <strong>Port</strong> <strong>Au</strong> Pr<strong>in</strong>ce <strong>Haiti</strong>; <strong>he</strong> <strong>is</strong> t<strong>he</strong> youngest out of two brot<strong>he</strong>rs and twos<strong>is</strong>ters. He nour<strong>is</strong><strong>he</strong>d a keen passion for education and t<strong>he</strong> f<strong>in</strong>e arts. At a very early age, h<strong>is</strong> teac<strong>he</strong>rs <strong>in</strong><strong>Haiti</strong> as well as h<strong>is</strong> classmates had already d<strong>is</strong>covered a leader <strong>in</strong> him. H<strong>is</strong> passion for teach<strong>in</strong>g stemsfrom h<strong>is</strong> participation as a presenter at Franck Etienne College <strong>in</strong> <strong>Port</strong> au Pr<strong>in</strong>ce on t<strong>he</strong> most prom<strong>in</strong>entauthors of French literature w<strong>he</strong>n <strong>he</strong> <strong>was</strong> only <strong>in</strong> 9 th grade.<strong>Jesler</strong> came to t<strong>he</strong> USA almost 23 years ago. He became t<strong>he</strong> student government president of t<strong>he</strong>high school program at L<strong>in</strong>dsey Hopk<strong>in</strong>s. After <strong>he</strong> graduated from high school, <strong>he</strong> went to Miami DadeCollege w<strong>he</strong>re <strong>he</strong> earned h<strong>is</strong> associate degree <strong>in</strong> secondary education. <strong>Jesler</strong> t<strong>he</strong>n transferred to BethuneCookman University <strong>in</strong> Daytona Beach, Florida on a full scholarship. While at Cookman, <strong>he</strong> became t<strong>he</strong>Treasurer of Project MODEL (Males of Diversity Exhibit<strong>in</strong>g Leadership). He <strong>was</strong> also awarded t<strong>he</strong>project model man of t<strong>he</strong> year award, which <strong>was</strong> a highly competitive award. <strong>Jesler</strong> made t<strong>he</strong> President’sl<strong>is</strong>t for every semester while enrolled at Cookman, consequently became t<strong>he</strong> Chapla<strong>in</strong> of t<strong>he</strong> prestigiouseducational organization Kappa Delta PI.As a member of t<strong>he</strong> CEC (council of exceptional children), <strong>Jesler</strong> <strong>was</strong> a proud presenter at t<strong>he</strong>CEC conference <strong>he</strong>ld <strong>in</strong> Vancouver, Canada <strong>in</strong> April of 2001. H<strong>is</strong> presentation focused on t<strong>he</strong> importanceof hav<strong>in</strong>g male of m<strong>in</strong>ority groups <strong>in</strong> t<strong>he</strong> field of education. <strong>Jesler</strong> graduated from Cookman with t<strong>he</strong>hig<strong>he</strong>st honor from Vary<strong>in</strong>g Exceptionalities, and <strong>he</strong> subsequently earned h<strong>is</strong> master degree from FloridaAtlantic University <strong>in</strong> Educational Leadership.As an educator, art<strong>is</strong>t and poet, <strong>he</strong> br<strong>in</strong>gs h<strong>is</strong> art to t<strong>he</strong> classroom to elicit t<strong>he</strong> students’ <strong>in</strong>neremotion and thoughts. In addition, <strong>Jesler</strong> <strong>is</strong> t<strong>he</strong> voice and ears of t<strong>he</strong> <strong>Haiti</strong>an parents; <strong>he</strong> serve not only ast<strong>he</strong>ir translators but also as a connect<strong>in</strong>g bridge to an unknown system. As a poet, <strong>he</strong> travels through t<strong>he</strong><strong>in</strong>ner be<strong>in</strong>g of h<strong>is</strong> fans to elicit t<strong>he</strong>ir <strong>in</strong>ner emotions and thoughts. As a comedian, h<strong>is</strong> peculiar and uniquestyle of humor delivery <strong>is</strong> noth<strong>in</strong>g short of impeccable. He <strong>is</strong> a multitalented and multifaceted art<strong>is</strong>t whobr<strong>in</strong>gs a different taste to our community with passion, enthusiasm, and love for what <strong>he</strong> does.


<strong>Jesler</strong> taught a 3 rd and 4 th grade gifted class <strong>in</strong> 2000 at Palm Terrace Elementary school <strong>in</strong>Daytona Beach, Florida. He also taught at t<strong>he</strong> Village Elementary Emotionally Handicapped cluster forthree years. He <strong>was</strong> t<strong>he</strong> Zone Behavior Special<strong>is</strong>t for three years for t<strong>he</strong> North Central Area, facilitat<strong>in</strong>gworkshops for teac<strong>he</strong>rs and ot<strong>he</strong>r <strong>in</strong>structional staff. He <strong>is</strong> currently teach<strong>in</strong>g at t<strong>he</strong> aut<strong>is</strong>m cluster ofMeadowbrook Elementary <strong>in</strong> Fort Lauderdale.Beside h<strong>is</strong> professional career, <strong>Jesler</strong> <strong>is</strong> a proud, dedicat<strong>in</strong>g and lov<strong>in</strong>g fat<strong>he</strong>r of a special daughterby t<strong>he</strong> name of Nia. <strong>Jesler</strong> <strong>is</strong> also a well known art<strong>is</strong>t <strong>in</strong> t<strong>he</strong> <strong>Haiti</strong>an community of South Florida, NewYork and <strong>Haiti</strong>. He released h<strong>is</strong> first story-tell<strong>in</strong>g and satiric CD <strong>in</strong> March 2009 entitled, “Future of t<strong>he</strong>Past”. <strong>Jesler</strong> <strong>is</strong> a poet, a radio show host, and a philanthrop<strong>is</strong>t who <strong>he</strong>lped organized many events <strong>in</strong>Miami to <strong>he</strong>lp t<strong>he</strong> d<strong>is</strong>enfranch<strong>is</strong>ed children of <strong>Haiti</strong>.
