In her22nd season of coaching, Stone is 418-171 overall (.709 winning percentage). Sheranked 22nd in all-time career win percentage among active Division I coaches at thebeginning of the 2006-07 season. Stone, who inherited a 7-21 team, was 10-17 (4-12 BigTen-T8th) in her first season at Wisconsin, and 12-16 (5-11 Big Ten-9th) in 2004-05.Her 2005-06 team was 11-18 and ninth in the Big Ten with a 5-11 record.INDIVIDUAL UPDATESUW INDIVIDUAL NOTES BRINGS HER ‘A’ GAME: Guard Jolene Anderson (Port Wing, Wis.), started a newdouble-digit scoring streak with 24 points vs. S. Mississippi and it now stands at five,three of which were 20-points games including a season high 28 points vs. Albany. Herprevious double-figure scoring streak ended at 35 games after collecting just five pointsin the loss at UC-Riverside Nov. 28. Anderson did have the longest in the Big Ten whichdated back to the last game of 2005 until Nov. 28, 2006. The streak ended 10 games shyof the school record of 45 held by LaTonya Sims. Anderson has scored in double figuresin 65 of her 69 career games. Wisconsin lost all four games in which she was held below10 points. Her career-low was two points against Iowa State on <strong>Dec</strong>. 5, 2004, the sixthgame of her career.She has started in every game as a Badger (69) and is UW’s leading scorer for thethird-straight season with 17.1 points per game which ranks second in the Big Ten. Lastyear she averaged 17.3 points per game which ranked fourth in the Big Ten in overallstats. She was the fastest male or female Badger to score 1,000 points (end of sophomoreseason; career points now 1,205), and has had <strong>14</strong> double-doubles in her career.She has made at least one 3-pointer in 57 of her 69 career games.Anderson was recently named a Naismith Player of the Year Top 50 honoree. Shewas named the MVP of the 2006 Rebel Shootout in Las Vegas. She was also all-tournamentand MPV of last year’s 2005 Rainbow Wahini Classic in Hawaii. SHE’S MONEY: Junior guard Janese Banks (Indianapolis) is the second-leadingscorer with <strong>14</strong>.0 points per game. She showed her versatility with a great stats line atAir Force and earned Big Ten Player of the Week honors with a career-high 28 points on9-of-13 shooting including three-of-four 3-pointers. She also added seven rebounds andfour assists. She is leading the team in field goal shooting hitting 55 percent.Banks was the second-leading scorer in 2005-06 with 12.8 points per game. She ledthe Badgers in assists with 4.42 per game while playing point guard. She has led UW inmost free throws the past two years and does again converting 43-59 for 72.9 percent.Banks was named to the Rebel Shootout all-tournament team, her second such honor. TEDDY BEAR: Sophomore Center Caitlin Gibson (Jefferson, Wis.), who takes ateddy bear with her on road trips, has scored in double figures in four games including acareer-high 15 points vs. Western Michigan. She is averaging 7.8 points per game <strong>com</strong>paredwith 5.1 ppg as a freshman. THE BLOCKMASTER: Junior 6-4 center Danielle Ward (Milwaukee, Wis.) is leadingthe team in blocks (1.67), and is third in steals (1.75). She has lost playing time sittingin foul trouble (averages 3.16/game). A starter in the last eight games of 2006, sheranked third on the team in scoring (10.2) and was second in rebounding with 5.7 pergame. She had 11 boards vs. K-State and added a season high 16 points vs. UNLV.Ward was named to the Rebel Shootout all-tournament team, her first such honor. SUGAR RAE: Sweet Rae Lin D’Alie (Waterford, Wis.) is the first TRUE startingpoint guard at Wisconsin since Dee Dee Pate graduated in 2000. The 5-3 freshman (pronouncedduh lee ah) ties Purdue’s starting point guard, FahKara Malone, as the smalleststarting point guard in the nation. She was a perfect 5-of-5 from the floor and had acareer-high 12 points against UW-Milwaukee. She leads UW in assists with 3.58 pergame and contributes 5.1 points per game. POINT GUARD, TOO: Freshman Sarah Ingison (Roseville, Minn.) spells D’Alie atthe point. At 5-7, she gives a different look to the Badgers with a bigger size and thepace with which she handles the offense. Ingison contributes 1.25 assists per game. MISS CONSISTENCY: Freshman 6-2 forward Brittany Heins (Postville, Iowa) wassidelined by a right ankle injury in the Central Connecticut State game 11/17 andmissed the UW-Milwaukee game. A good post player with a nice outside touch, she madeher first 3-pointer in collecting a career-high seven points on 12/7 and is slowly increasingher playing time while averaging 2.6 points and 2.5 rebounds per game. THE IGNITER: Freshman Mariah Dunham (Watertown, Wis.) usually <strong>com</strong>es offthe bench to hit a couple quick shots which ignites the team and the crowd. The postplayer can be an outside threat with the 3-pointer where she is hitting <strong>14</strong>-36 for 38.9percent. Dunham has hit for double-figures in four games with a career-high <strong>14</strong> pointsvs. S. Mississippi. She is averaging 7.6 points and 4.5 rebounds per game. UPDATES

STANDERSON IN NAISMITH WATCH FOR 2006-07 PLAYER OF YEARGuard Jolene Anderson (Port Wing, Wis.), is one of 50 premier players in the nationthat are on the Naismith Watch List for the 2006-06 Naismith National Player of theYear. The Naismith Trophy is the most prestigious national award presented annually tothe men's and women's players of the year. The Top 50 list was <strong>com</strong>piled by the AtlantaTipoff Club's Board of Selectors, <strong>com</strong>prised of leading basketball journalists, and administratorsfrom around the country. The board based its pre-season criteria on player performancesfrom last season and expectations for the 2006-07 season. The list will benarrowed in January to the top 30 players, and that list will be eligible for the final ballotvoted on in March. Anderson is a three-time USA Basketball gold medalist who hasled the Badgers in scoring the past three seasons.

Banks earned her first Big Ten Player of the WeekHonor for her performance. She hit 9-of-13 from the fieldincluding 3-of-4 3-pointers, and added four assists, twosteals, and tied Jolene Anderson for high rebounding honorswith seven. Anderson had 23 points and tied her career highwith five three pointers (of seven). Center Caitlin Gibson tiedher career high with 12 points hitting 6-of-7 from the field.The runnin’-and-gunnin’ Badgers shot 55 percent (34-62)from the field and outrebounded the opponent 43-28. Led byAnderson, UW had 10-of-<strong>14</strong> three-point goals which rankssecond for 3-pointers in a game. (Record is 11 three times).GAME 2: UW 80, vs. W. MICHIGAN 77A year ago the Badgers were 0-4 in games decided by threepoints or fewer, but this year Wisconsin came out on top witha hard-fought 80-77 win over Western Michigan. JoleneAnderson had 26 points and tied her career high for a second-consecutivegame with five three-pointers. She justmissed a double-double with nine rebounds. Center CaitlinGibson had her career high with 15 points including 7-of-10free throws.GAME 3: UW 75, C. CONNECTICUT STATE 45Wisconsin jumped out to a 25-5 lead with 10:16 left to playin the first half and coasted to 74-45 win in its first meetingwith Central Connecticut State. Five players scored in doublefigures led by sophomore Caitlin Gibson with 12 points whilerookie Mariah Dunham posted career-bests in points (10),rebounds (eight) and assists (five).GAME 4: UW 78, UW-MILWAUKEE 45The UW-Milwaukee Panthers could not withstand UW’sdefense and transition offense as the Badgers jumped out toa 24-0 lead with 10:47 left in the first half. The runnin’-andgunnin’Badgers are a fun team to watch as they let theirdefense, depth and quickness provide instant offense.Against UW-M the Badgers had 26 points off turnovers and16 fast break points. CCSU Wisconsin scored 32 points offturnovers and 17 fast break points. Versus WMU, UW scored16 points in transition, had 15 steals. UW is also gettingscoring contributions at every position.GAME 5: UW 56, Kanas State 53The fast start that had be<strong>com</strong>e the Badger MO in the previousthree games was non-existent against a very good K-Stateteam. The Wildcats jumpted out to an 11-2 lead and kept UWfrom playing its up-tempo game. Wisconsin was hitting onfew cylinders shooting just 29.1 percent for the game andmaking just five field goals in the second half. But timelyfree-throws down the stretch and the Badger defense whichforced 27 turnovers by K-State and provided 18 points keptthe Wisconsin in control of the game.GAME 6: UW 67, UNLV 51UNLV may have gotten off to a fast start on the Badgers leading11-7 midway through the first half, but the Badgerdefense stiffened and held the Rebels without a field goal for16 minutes on each side of half time to give Wisconsin theRebel Tournament title 67-51. Janese Banks had 20 points tolead UW while Jolene Anderson had her first double-doubleof the season withh 13 points and 12 rebounds.GAME 8: UW 88, SOUTHERN MISSISSISPPI 37The Badgers showed no signs of their eight-day Thanksgivingtrip, their first loss, or the flu that affected the head coachand at least four players with an 88-37 win over SouthernMississippi. Tied at <strong>14</strong> with 11:36 lef in the first half,Wisconsin’s defense kicked in creating numerous layupopportunities and UW streaked to a 45-22 halftime lead.Jolene Anderson started another double-digit streak with 24points and added 13 rebounds for ther 13th career doubledouble.Mariah Dunham had a career-high <strong>14</strong> points. Thesecond-half found Wisconsin giving Coach Lisa Stone notonly her best start but also her greatest margin of victory(51) of her four-year career at Wisconsin.GAME 9: UW 68, KANSAS 41The Badgers outscored Kansas 24-4 to open the second halfand put away a close game 68-41 at the Kohl Center. Leading29-21 at the half, Wisconsin held KU to just 30 percent fieldgoal shooting for the game and forced 20 turnovers collecting24 points off TO’s to avenge last year’s double-overtimeloss to the Jayhawks. Jolene Anderson and janese Banks ledUW in scoring with 15 points each.GAME 10: UW 75, ILLINOIS-CHICAGO 53Illinois-Chicago made it a close game <strong>com</strong>ing within 19-<strong>14</strong>with 7:58 left in the first half, but like with so many otheropponents, the Badgers turned on the jets outscoring theFlames 17-5 to lead <strong>com</strong>fortably at the half, 36-19. DanielleWard just missed a double-double to lead UW with 13 pointsand nine rebounds. Janese Banks and Mariah Dunham bothhad 12, and Jolene Anderson battled the flu but collected 10points. UW outrebounded the smaller Flames 43-22.GAME 11: UW 75, UNIVERSITY OF ALBANY 46In another fast start, the Badgers jumped out to a 16-4 leadand held the Albany Great Danes at bay 75-46 to earn their10th win and remain undefeated at home with a 7-0 mark.Led by Jolene Anderson’s season-best 28 points and JaneseBanks first double-double of the year with 13 points and 12rebounds, Wisconsin continued its strong defensive effortsagainst Albany. The Great Danes shot just 34 percent fromthe field (18-of-53) and were outrebounded by the Badgers50-27, including an 18-5 deficit in offensive boards. UW alsofinished with nine steals, including a season-best six fromAnderson which tied her career mark.
