<strong>Fee</strong> <strong>Advice</strong>This is a private Emergency Department. It is fullyequipped with the latest technology and staffed 24hours a day. Our fees help to pay some of the costsof the experienced staff who treat you, as well as theoverhead costs of operating a first class Emergencyfacility. Medicare and the health funds considerthese fees “outpatient” charges, even if you areadmitted to hospital. We expect payment at or priorto the time of treatment.Your fixed out of pocket expense is $305All patients attending <strong>Sydney</strong> <strong>Adventist</strong> <strong>Hospital</strong>(SAH) Emergency Care are required to pay afixed out of pocket expense of $305 (includes a$45 facility fee and a $260 medical services fee).In the interests of streamlining our processes,you are required to pay the $305 prior to yourconsultation commencing.Your $305 out of pocket Emergency Care expenseWILL NOT change.SAH requests that you sign a Medicare Claimform as permission for us to submit your finalisedEmergency Care invoice to Medicare on yourbehalf.When Medicare has processed your claim you willreceive a rebate cheque made payable to SAH. Werequest that you forward this cheque along withpayment for any other outstanding invoices to SAH.Medicare Safety NetUpon receipt of the Medicare cheque SAH willforward you a detailed receipt summary of youraccount.You may present this summary to Medicare forrebate purposes and to update your Safety Netbalance.
