Zamberlin will coach the defensivetackles for the Wildcats.Zamberlin is no stranger to <strong>Weber</strong> <strong>State</strong> or the Big Sky. For thepast four seasons he was the head coach at Idaho <strong>State</strong>. With theBengals he compiled a 6-39 overall record. He also spent time asan assistant coach at Eastern Washington.Prior to coaching at Idaho <strong>State</strong> Zamberlin was the head coach atCentral Washington for ten seasons from 1997 to 2006. At CentralWashington he compiled a 63-41 overall record and twice advancedthe Wildcats to post-season play.Before becoming a head coach Zamberlin spent nine seasons asan assistant coach with stints at the <strong>University</strong> of Richmond, EasternWashington, and the <strong>University</strong> of Massachusetts.As a player Zamberlin played linebacker in the NFL for six seasons,playing 78 total games with the New England Patriots (1979-1982)and the Kansas City Chiefs (1983-1984). He was a fifth round draftchoice of New England out of Pacific Lutheran <strong>University</strong>, where heearned a degree in 1979 in physical education.Brian Zeches enters his second season with the Wildcats. He isprimarly responsible for the running backs and fullbacks at <strong>Weber</strong><strong>State</strong>.Zeches comes to <strong>Weber</strong> <strong>State</strong> after serving as a graduate assistantcoach at UTEP in 2008 and 2009 under Coach Mike Price,working with the defense. In 2006 and 2007, he served as a graduateassistant at the <strong>University</strong> of New Mexico.Zeches is not new to Ogden. In 1987 and 1988, his father, JimZeches, served on the <strong>Weber</strong> <strong>State</strong> football staff under Coach MikePrice coaching the inside linebackers. Brian was five-years old atthe time.In 1989 his father left <strong>Weber</strong> <strong>State</strong>, with Price, to join the coachingstaff at Washington <strong>State</strong>. Brian graduated from Pullman Highwhere he played quarterback on the football team and first base onthe baseball team. His senior year, he directed Pullman High to an11-1 record and into the state semifinal game.He began his collegiate career at the <strong>University</strong> of Illinois (2001-02), then transferred to Idaho <strong>State</strong> where he played three seasonsfor the Bengals under Coach Larry Lewis.
