Somehowwhen <strong>you</strong> get pulled into the vortex of thecorporate world, days, months and yearsseem to go by in a blink. Your dreams seemto slowly fade away with all the meetings,spreadsheets, statistics, and countless emailsand work overload. I worked all day in a5 x 5 cubicle in a 20 story building wherepeople filed in one by one in the morningwith the same blank look in their eyes, ateat their desk for lunch, were too busy forcoffee breaks, nodded to each other in thehallways and then at the end of the day, thestress of the day seemed to drain us all fromour vitality and we could not wait to see thelight from the main doorway to take us hometo our families. Sunday nights were alwaysthe worst, and I had the “Sunday doom andgloom”, my body was trying to tell me thatwhat I was doing was not fulfilling my souland I would feel a knot in my stomach eachSunday night. One day Lauretta said thatshe had a movie that her boss asked theirstaff to watch. It was called “The Secret”.After we watched the movie, we were bothin tears. Lauretta really connected with theMiracle Man’s story as it was so similar to herown story when she was recovering fromGuillain-Barré Syndrome. I felt so inspiredafter watching this movie as it <strong>com</strong>binedin an hour and a half all of the books thatI had read since I began my journey oflearning the power of positive thinking andvisualizations which started in the early 90’s.I was excited and optimistic again. The moviegave me a renewed sense that I had not feltin many years. I can be the person I wantto be and I can do what I love to do, it’s allup to me!! I felt in a sense that I was rebornagain, by changing my thoughts I couldchange my reality!! I watched “The Secret”every Sunday night for about year to keepuplifted and motivated. While working atmy corporate job Lauretta and I were writingsongs and recording in Arizona with ourtalented producer and co-writer, Everett RossHarwood, and keeping the faith. Throughthe Law of Attraction, we were introduced toJo Blankenburg who wrote one of the themesongs to “Survivor” and is an internationallyacclaimed <strong>com</strong>poser. He enhanced our song“There’s A Secret” and gave it the signatureorchestral sound!During this year my corporate job wasgetting increasingly more stressful with lessand less staff to give the customers the qualityservice that they came to expect. I developeda condition called GERD - GastroesophagealReflux Disease, this is an illness that makes<strong>you</strong> feel like <strong>you</strong> are having a heart attackas the pain in <strong>you</strong>r chest is so severe. WhenI first went to the doctor I thought I washaving an angina attack, but after a diagnosiswith my symptoms, I had GERD. I askedmy doctor what are some of the causes ofGERD and my doctor told me a big one isSTRESS! This made so much sense to meas my chest pain would frequently happenwhile I was sitting at my desk working away.This continued for about 6 months and wasnot getting any better even with an influxof pills and dietary changes. My soul waswhispering to me in many ways to move onand start over with the life I was meant tolive. When I was not getting any better andthe stress wasn’t lifting I decided I had to takeaction. I knew that thoughts can change myreality, so I decided to use these principles tohelp me change to a career that I would lovegetting up on Monday mornings and feel joyand bliss instead of dread and despair!I took the time and wrote out what exactlyI wanted for a career. I decided to that Iwanted a career that would inspire others andhelp them live the life of their dreams and aswell be able to sing our music. I had no ideaat the time how I was going to do this, but Iput in my order and had absolute faith that itwould be presented to me in some way by theUniverse. I created a vision board with all ofthe things that I wanted in my life. I started agratitude list each morning on the 40 minute<strong>com</strong>mute to work that I did daily to help givemy day a fresh start and beginning in a stateof gratitude. I found as many things as I couldin my present job that I was grateful for, as Iknew that when <strong>you</strong> are grateful for what <strong>you</strong>presently have, more good things will <strong>com</strong>eto <strong>you</strong>! Soon after Lauretta and I went to visitmy parents in Moncton and the Universe sentus our sign that we were looking for! Whileat Chapters, at the exact same time, weboth held up a new book that we never sawbefore called Law of Attraction, The Scienceof Getting More of What You Want And LessOf What You Don’t, and we each said “lookwhat I found”!, and we took that as a definitesign that we were to read this book. Laurettamentioned to me that the author was givingcertification training to be<strong>com</strong>e fully certifiedto teach the Law of Attraction. I instantlyknew that my prayers were answered andthat the Universe had presented somethingto me that would change my life. We wenthome and did a Google search on the courseand we jumped on a plane and one weeklater we were fully certified to teach theLaw of Attraction. This training gave us themeans to incorporate our inspirational musicand teach and inspire people to learn howto live the life of their dreams! I resignedfrom my corporate position knowing thatremoving the stress would remove mygastrointestinal problems and I had faiththat my new training was the key to my newlife! I decided to follow my bliss, live the Lawof Attraction and take the baby steps that Ineeded to take to recreate my life and mycareer. We are now teaching the Law ofAttraction and <strong>com</strong>bine our motivationalsongs with our Mind, Body, Spirit workshopsto inspire men and women to find their joyand live with passion! Powerful forces <strong>com</strong>etogether when <strong>you</strong> take the steps to change<strong>you</strong>r thoughts, live in a state of gratitude,decide what <strong>you</strong> want to do, be, or have inthis life, and give these positive attention!
