The Bangpakong BovornWittayayon, a secondary school in Thailand, has theuniqueness of being the only school with both themangrove and a museum, the Bangpakong MangroveEco-Museum.The school develops the museum as a paramountmeans of preserving and cultivating appreciation of theenvironment, and it is perhaps the first of its type inSoutheast Asia.When we think of museums, we think of a group ofbuildings constructed to keep or display objects ofinterest. The Bangpakong Bovorn Wittayayon schoolchose to present a different concept of museum, onewhich is not confined to specialists.The concept is based on the belief that everything canbe made into a museum, and thus it is possible for thegeneral public to build their own museum the way theythink is good for education.12 Making Mangrove Eco-Museums
