C. Clark,formerly connected with Bellevue Hospital and instructor in operativesurgery at University Medical College, New York city.The department for the treatment of diseases of the eye and ear,throat and nose, will be in charge of Dr. F. H. Bartlett, specialist inthose branches.For the benefit of those who, from the nature of their work, are indanger of injury, this hospital offers a yearly insurance ticket. The costof the ticket is $5. It entitles the holder, in case of accident, to a freebed, board and treatment in the hospital for a period of thirty days duringthe year the ticket runs.Two hundred and fiftydollar^ will sustain a free bed for oneyear. For the accommodation of persons who are ill or injured and arenot able to pay for treatment the attending physicians offer their serviceswithout charge, provid ng the above expense is met by private subscripttions, charitable societies or organizations. The free beds are entirelyunder control of those who endow them, subject to rules and regulationsof the hospital.' An opportunity to secure training as nurses is open to a limitednumber. This course consists of eighteen months study and nursing inand outside the hospital. No salary will be paid, but nurses are givenexpenses during the term. Those wishing to avail themselves of thisopportunity can learn particulars by applying at the hospital. Nursesfurnished to private parties upon application.An ambulance, provided with necessary splints, bandages, stretcher,etc., can be obtained promply by notifying by telephone Dr. Coon's drugstore or in other ways the physicians.
