<strong>TRIZ</strong> <strong>Methodology</strong> <strong>Development</strong> <strong>Competition</strong> AnnouncementMA<strong>TRIZ</strong> announces <strong>TRIZ</strong> methodology development competition.To be accepted as the competition entry, the submission must contain new and applied in practicemethodological techniques for the analysis of inventive situations, solving inventive problems ortechnology prediction. The paper can be at any degree of completion on the date of this announcement;however, submitted paper must be complete.The papers on the following topics will not be accepted: <strong>TRIZ</strong> training and education; application of <strong>TRIZ</strong>in non-technical areas; application of <strong>TRIZ</strong> for software development and on the relationships between<strong>TRIZ</strong> and other areas of knowledge. The papers lacking specific methodological techniques or examplesof their practical applications will also not be accepted.Based on the evaluation of the submitted entries, three winner papers will be identified. These paperswill be awarded the following prizes:First prize - US$1000;Second prize – US$500;Third prize – US$250.The author of the winning paper will receive the award certificate with the title of the paper and theplace it won.The competition entries must be received no later than May 18, 2012.The award ceremony will be conducted during <strong>TRIZ</strong>Fest-2012 Conference (Aug 2 – 3) in Finland.The e-mail for submissions is fey@trizgroup.com .Requirements to Submissions1. For participation in the competition, the authors submit:a. Paper in accordance with the outline (see 3). The paper is submitted electronically.b. Author’s personal information (full name, address, highest level of MA<strong>TRIZ</strong> certification,name of employer, contact info, photograph).2. The volume of the submitted paper must be between 5 and 20 letter size pages (font 12 pt,single spacing)3. Submission must contain:a. Title;b. Abstract;c. Introduction with the description of the research area and substantiation of theimportance of the selected research topic;


d. Description of the materials and methods used by the author for the development ofthe new piece of <strong>TRIZ</strong> methodology;e. Description of the essence of the developed methodology piece with the examples of itsapplication and illustrations;f. Description of the main areas where the new piece of methodology can be used and theways the results of the work were validated in practice and training;g. References.4. The paper must be submitted in English and in Russian. In exceptional circumstances, with aspecial permission of the competition committee, the paper may be submitted in one of thelanguages with abstracts in both.Requirements to Quality of Submitted Papers1. The contents of the paper must be within the scope of the competition.2. The paper must include the overview of the known publications related to the selected researchtopic.3. The work must contain key points which are substantially different from the known publications.4. Every key point must be illustrated by an example of its practical application.5. The examples must be new.a. Note: It is acceptable to use known inventive situations and problems if the keymethodological point it illustrates allowed to obtain new results.
