Highlights• produced 1,376,224 forest tree seedlings andwildlings

Highlights• intercrop of abaca with trees as abaca requires at least 60%shade for better growth (preference is Ani-e (Erythrina fusca) ,a nitrogen-fixing tree)

Challenges•Seed year (Dipterocarps: 2-10 years) thus, resort towildlings collection (DENR permit is required) – need toprotect mother trees and regulate wildlings collection.•Limited information on indigenous and endemic trees(e.g. site requirements - climatic, edaphic, elevation;growth performance - diameter and height;dendrology/tree identification; phenology and seedtechnology – collection and germination)•Ability of RF farm to provide short and medium termeconomic needs of farmers.•Need for identification and delineation of production andprotection forest (land-use/management plans).• Replication of RF without/with minimal external support
