You need to add <strong>Tulsa</strong> Tech’s school code, 012572, in orderfor the information to be sent to the Financial Assistance Office. When you complete the income section of the<strong>FAFSA</strong>, you will need to use the IRS Data Retrieval process to import your tax return information into your <strong>FAFSA</strong>application.When you complete the <strong>FAFSA</strong>, you are applying for the following types of grants: Pell Grant, Supplemental EducationalOpportunity Grant (SEOG), and if you are a resident of Oklahoma you may be eligible for the Oklahoma Tuition AidGrant (OTAG). SEOG and OTAG have limited funding so you should complete your <strong>FAFSA</strong> as early as possible to beconsidered for funding.You must fill out a new <strong>FAFSA</strong> for each school year. For assistance with completing your <strong>FAFSA</strong>, contact the TRIOprogram at 918-595-8600. TRIO is usually available in the Financial Assistance Office on Monday afternoon’s and all dayThursday.• Pell Grant – You will not be eligible for a Pell Grant if you already have a Bachelor’s degree.• SEOG - Will be awarded based on the <strong>FAFSA</strong> processing date and financial need• OTAG - Will be awarded to Oklahoma residents based on the <strong>FAFSA</strong> processing date and Expected FamilyContribution (EFC) of 1700 or less.• <strong>Tulsa</strong> Tech does not offer any type of student loans.• You cannot receive federal financial aid from more than one school at a time.Steps forReceivinga PellDisbursement1. Fill out <strong>FAFSA</strong> (Student responsibility).2. Admitted into your career major by following the admissions procedures (Student responsibility).3. Enrolled in classes (<strong>Tulsa</strong> Tech responsibility).4. If your <strong>FAFSA</strong> is chosen for verification by the Department of Education, the Financial Assistance Office willrequest further documentation by way of a letter to your home address (<strong>Tulsa</strong> Tech responsibility).5. Return ALL requested documents such as Tax transcript, Verification form, etc. to the Financial Assistance Office(Student responsibility).6. Award letter will be sent to student from the Financial Assistance Office (<strong>Tulsa</strong> Tech responsibility).7. Return the Pell Grant Disbursement Authorization form to the Financial Assistance Office (Student responsibility).Things youshould know1. If your Pell Grant award has been processed and you have received an award letter, you may choose tocharge books and required supplies that are available at the <strong>Tulsa</strong> Tech bookstore. You will only be allowedto charge the books for the first 10 calendar days after your class starts as long as your Pell Grant is morethan your student account charges. These charges will be applied to your student account. It is yourresponsibility to pay all bookstore charges, tuition, fees, etc., that are not covered by your Pell Grantor any other types of financial aid.2. Your first Pell disbursement will be applied to your student account to cover all charges for the school year.If the disbursement amount is larger than your balance, then you will receive a refund check. You will receive your second disbursement after you have completed the number of hours that you were paid forin your first disbursement. All required course grades and seat hours must be completed before your seconddisbursement will be issued. A form will be sent with your award letter explaining the number of hours that youmust complete for each disbursement.4. Each student’s award can vary due to <strong>FAFSA</strong> results, career major, start date, enrollment status (all day/half dayenrollments), transfer hours, etc. Therefore, your Pell Grant award and disbursement amount may not be the same as yourclassmates.DisplacedHomemaker/Single Parent& CareersUnlimited<strong>Tulsa</strong> TechEducationFoundationScholarshipTo be eligible you must be a single parent, displaced homemaker, or in a non-traditional major for your gender.Once you have been enrolled in a full-time career major, you may complete an application. If you meet thecriteria, you will be eligible for 25% of your tuition and 100% of required books for the class. We must receiveyour application no later than 2 weeks after your start date.Students must be in attendance for 30 days and in good academic standing before applying. This scholarshipprovides funding for tuition, books, uniforms, test fees, etc but does not pay for living expenses. You mustsubmit all of the required documentation with your application. Incomplete applications will not beaccepted. The amount of this scholarship is up to $250 per academic year.FinancialNeedsScholarshipTo be eligible for this scholarship you must have completed a <strong>FAFSA</strong> application. You must have been deniedPell Grant funding and not be in default on a student loan. This scholarship pays up to $250 per academic yeartowards tuition. The funding for this scholarship is very limited so it is best to apply as soon as possibleOUTSIDE SCHOLARSHIPSOklahomaPromiseIf you are eligible for Oklahoma Promise, you need to notify the Financial Assistance Office of your eligibility.
