Flight ArrangementFlight arrangement <strong>of</strong> the Contingent has been uploaded <strong>to</strong> the <strong>Hong</strong> <strong>Kong</strong> Contingent Websitehttp://22wsj.scouting.org.hk. You can also refer <strong>to</strong> your “Personal Travel Particular”. You have<strong>to</strong> assemble at the respective airline check-in counter at the Departure Hall <strong>of</strong> <strong>Hong</strong> <strong>Kong</strong>International Airport, 3 hours before the flight departure time, for check-in.Dress Code <strong>Scout</strong> Uniform (shirts, shorts/culottes/skirts/trousers, belt, s<strong>to</strong>ckings/socks, withappropriate badges, headgear, hat badge & woggle) with Contingent Scarf, andContingent Badge. The Contingent Badge is allowed <strong>to</strong> be worn above rightbreast pocket or immediately above the award emblems <strong>of</strong> the scout uniform from27 July 2011 <strong>to</strong> 26 January 2012.(1) Please make sure your name, address <strong>of</strong> the destination (<strong>World</strong> <strong>Scout</strong> <strong>Jamboree</strong>, Unit __,Rinkaby lager, SE-291 76, Rinkaby, SWEDEN) and telephone number are on the checkedluggage, or the airline may refuse <strong>to</strong> bear responsibility for any damage or loss.(2) Please inform your family members about your flight details for pickup and drop-<strong>of</strong>farrangements.2. Early Departure and/or Late Return(1) If you are not <strong>to</strong> travel <strong>to</strong>gether with the Contingent <strong>to</strong> Sweden, you have <strong>to</strong> go <strong>to</strong>Copenhagen Kastrup Airport (CPH) or other designated places <strong>to</strong> report <strong>to</strong> your TravelGroup Leader upon his/her arrival from <strong>Hong</strong> <strong>Kong</strong>. Similarly, you are <strong>to</strong> depart from<strong>Jamboree</strong> site with your Travel Group. For your travel details, please refer <strong>to</strong> the “PersonalTravel Particulars”.(2) <strong>Members</strong> who plan <strong>to</strong> go <strong>to</strong> <strong>Jamboree</strong> site directly by themselves must inform Contingentstaff at 2957 6400 in advance.3. General Information(1) Weather and Clothing• Weather in Sweden could be quite cold (especially in the morning or at night) and rainyduring the summer. Extra warm outer / inner wears, warm sleeping bags and goodraincoats are strongly recommended.• For latest weather conditions in Sweden, please visit website http://www.hko.gov.hk orhttp://www.weathercity.com/se/kristianstad before departure(2) Time Difference• Daylight Saving Time in Sweden starts from late March <strong>to</strong> late Oc<strong>to</strong>ber each year, so thetime in Sweden is 6 hours behind that in <strong>Hong</strong> <strong>Kong</strong> during the <strong>Jamboree</strong>.(3) Language• Swedish, but most people in Sweden can speak English.(4) Money & Currency• Krona is the <strong>of</strong>ficial currency <strong>of</strong> Sweden. The currency code and symbol are “SEK” and“kr” respectively. Banknotes are in values <strong>of</strong> 20kr, 50kr, 100kr, 500kr and 1,000kr.Coins include 1kr, 5kr, 10kr.• On 12 July 2011, the exchange rate is approximately SEK1 = HKD1.2.• Participants are advised <strong>to</strong> bring along a reasonable amount <strong>of</strong> Swedish Krona/Euro/USDollars for use on the way and in the <strong>Jamboree</strong>, although there will be ATM and a bank in<strong>Jamboree</strong> site.1/8


(5) Insurance• The Contingent has arranged group travel insurance for members who have paid thepremium for the period between 24 July and 10 August 2011, both dates inclusive.Travel insurance <strong>to</strong> cover days outside the aforesaid period has also been arranged formembers who have further paid the premium for their early departures or late returns.For insurance coverage, please visit the Contingent website http://22wsj.scouting.org.hk.• To check your insured period, please refer <strong>to</strong> the “Demand Note” / “Statement <strong>of</strong> Income& Expenditure” circulated via the email <strong>of</strong> International & Liaison Branch on 29 June2011.(6) Medical Issues• Please bring your own medication.• The Contingent and Units will each be equipped with First-aid kits.• There are 3 Health Centres and 1 Medical Centre in the <strong>Jamboree</strong> site <strong>to</strong> provide free firstaid and medical services <strong>of</strong> different levels. There is also 1 Pharmacy at site butmedication and prescription items will be at a fee.• For any serious accident, the injured will be sent <strong>to</strong> a hospital at Kristianstad for treatmentat a fee.(7) Communication• Import or use <strong>of</strong> walkie-talkie or similar wireless apparatus not pre-approved is strictlyforbidden in Sweden. Please do not bring such communication equipment <strong>to</strong> the<strong>Jamboree</strong>.• Postal service is provided in the <strong>Jamboree</strong> site (see Bulletin 6 Page 15).• To call HK from overseas : International Access Code (00 or “+”) + Country/DistrictCode (852) + (<strong>Hong</strong> <strong>Kong</strong> local telephone number)• To call Sweden from HK or any other country: International Access Code (00 or “+”) +Country Code (46) + (Sweden local telephone number but skip the initial “0”)• To call within Sweden (using local phone number or roaming): Sweden local telephonenumber.(8) Emergencies• For emergency contact <strong>of</strong> Unit leader and/or Contingent coordina<strong>to</strong>r(s), please refer <strong>to</strong>your “Personal Travel Particulars”.• For any emergencies during the <strong>Jamboree</strong>, please contact sub-camp staff or camp security(in yellow fluorescent vest with title), or call 999 by the phones provided in the <strong>Jamboree</strong>site. If you use mobile phone, please call 010 471 4999.• For emergencies such as fire and cases requiring first aid and help from the Police outsidethe <strong>Jamboree</strong> period, please call 112. For non-emergency services, please contact thelocal Police Force.4. Other Important Notes(1) In case <strong>of</strong> inclement weather conditions (eg black rains<strong>to</strong>rm or typhoon) or other specialsituations (eg flight cancellation or delay), you will be informed <strong>of</strong> the latest arrangementsby Unit leaders and/or Contingent staff. You may assume everything is on schedule if nospecific notice is received.(2) <strong>Members</strong> must assembly on time, observe the rules <strong>of</strong> the Contingent and the <strong>Jamboree</strong>, andfollow the instructions <strong>of</strong> Unit leaders and Contingent staff.(3) <strong>Members</strong> found in breach <strong>of</strong> any <strong>of</strong> these rules may be subject <strong>to</strong> a hearing, and may beprohibited from taking part in future international events. A serious breach may result inimmediate suspension <strong>of</strong> participation in the <strong>Jamboree</strong> and compulsory return <strong>to</strong> <strong>Hong</strong> <strong>Kong</strong>,followed by disciplinary hearing, which may lead <strong>to</strong> suspension/termination <strong>of</strong> <strong>Scout</strong>membership.2/8

Remarks:1. This is only a suggested list. What <strong>to</strong> bring and in what quantity vary with personal needs andhabits. The choice <strong>of</strong> items lies in suitability and know-how.2. To play safe, bring more rather than less, but all belongings must fit in the Contingent check-inluggage bag and carry-on backpack with their gross weights and dimensions all within limitsstipulated by the Contingent and airline, whichever is the less.3.
