NETBALL FOR SECONDARY SCHOOLSGENERAL INSTRUCTIONS AND RULES OF THE GAMEThe Tournament shall be played in accordance with the official rules of the Game and thecompetition will be conducted entirely under the control of the <strong>Urdd</strong> and the Welsh NetballAssociation, whose decision will be final. Teams shall be dressed correctly, including positionalbibs (letters front and back), and in accordance with the rules of the Game.Bike pants and such must not be worn. Cycling shorts must not be worn under playing skirts.The rules regarding fingernail length, items of jewellery, sharp hair adornments etc. will beenforced.Trainers should be fastened in front of the tongues, in the correct manner.Points will be awarded on the 4/3/2/1 system. (Pool rounds)In the event of a points tie (Pool rounds) the pool results shall be decided on Goal Average, i.e.goals for divided by goals against. Should goal average be identical, Goal Difference will beused i.e. goals for minus goals against.Extra time (Round Two onwards) will be played as per WNA Championship rules (if required)Captains should toss for first Centre pass or choice of ends prior to their match and inform theUmpires.0. Teams are asked to provide alternative bibs in case of clash of colours. The first namedteam should change.1. Teams should be courtside 3 mins before the game is due to start.2. If a team is late then the non-offending team will receive 1 goal for every minute late andafter 5 mins. The Game is awarded as a bye.3. No injury time can be allowed and the injured player should be removed from the Courtas soon as possible and substituted immediately. However, in the event of a seriousinjury, the player must not be moved from the Court without medical supervision.4. No player who is bleeding from an open wound will be allowed to enter or remain onCourt and may only enter or re-enter it when: a) the flow of blood had been stopped. B)the wound has been cleaned and covered. And C) affected clothing had been removed.5. Only the teams playing may be courtside – no spectators. Teams and coaches must usethe team benches. NB> there is limited spectator space at Cardiff University and at WISduring the preliminary rounds. The Finals at WIS will use the International Court and thespectator seating.6. Each squad may consist of up to 12 players. Substitution is allowed in accordance withthe rules of the Game.7. Games will be 5 mins each way (U13 and U15) and 7 mins each way (U18) with 1 min. athalf time.8. Players may only play in one section.9. Players must be on their school or college register.Please note: Teams must report to their respective playing venue and register at the Court on which they areplaying.
