<strong>Meet</strong> <strong>the</strong> <strong>Camp</strong> <strong>Staff</strong> <strong>at</strong> <strong>the</strong> <strong>McLane</strong> <strong>Center</strong>!Kevin Wall, <strong>Camp</strong> Director & NH Audubon Director ofEduc<strong>at</strong>ionKevin is entering his fourth year as <strong>Camp</strong> Director <strong>at</strong> Friends of <strong>the</strong>Eagle camp. He earned a BA in history and geography from <strong>the</strong>University of Massachusetts in Boston. After completing hisundergradu<strong>at</strong>e studies, Kevin worked seasonally with <strong>the</strong> N<strong>at</strong>ional Park Service and <strong>the</strong> N<strong>at</strong>ional ForestService where he honed his skills as an environmental educ<strong>at</strong>or. He eventually returned to school toreceive a Master’s Degree in Educ<strong>at</strong>ion and a teaching certific<strong>at</strong>ion for grades 5-12. Kevin’s full-timeduties as Director of Educ<strong>at</strong>ion give him <strong>the</strong> opportunity to visit schools across <strong>the</strong> st<strong>at</strong>e with ourresident raptors and o<strong>the</strong>r animals to spread <strong>the</strong> message of conserv<strong>at</strong>ion. He spends most of his freetime outdoors hiking, skiing, kayaking, or <strong>at</strong> home listening and playing music.Mary Stetson, Assistant<strong>Camp</strong> Director & Wonders<strong>Camp</strong> LeaderMary has been a part of <strong>the</strong>Friends of <strong>the</strong> Eagle <strong>Camp</strong> familyfor 7 years. She has served as<strong>Camp</strong> Counselor, Director, andAssistant Director. Marygradu<strong>at</strong>ed from <strong>the</strong> University of<strong>New</strong> <strong>Hampshire</strong> with a degree inMarine and Freshw<strong>at</strong>er Biology.She has a Master’s Degree inElementary Educ<strong>at</strong>ion (K-8) th<strong>at</strong>she received from Sou<strong>the</strong>rn NHUniversity. Mary is currentlyemployed as a sixth grade m<strong>at</strong>h<strong>Camp</strong> Director Kevin Wall sharesand science teacher <strong>at</strong> Iber Holmes Gove Middle School in<strong>the</strong> <strong>McLane</strong> <strong>Center</strong>’s residentRaymond. In her free time, she enjoys hiking, canoeing/kayaking,Barred Owl with campers in 2010.travelling, skiing, and reading. We are excited to welcome Maryback as our Assistant <strong>Camp</strong> Director and leader for our Wonders campers.Kelsey Graaskamp, Explorers LeaderKelsey plans to gradu<strong>at</strong>e this May from Mount Holyoke College where she studies Psychology andEduc<strong>at</strong>ion. Her future plans are to <strong>at</strong>tend gradu<strong>at</strong>e school and study counseling. Kelsey is entering hereighth summer as a counselor <strong>at</strong> Friends of <strong>the</strong> Eagle <strong>Camp</strong>. Before th<strong>at</strong>, she <strong>at</strong>tended as a camper forfive years. Kelsey is actively involved in sports of all kinds and is a member of her school’s soccer team.She loves hiking, swimming, and kayaking. She is excited to join us once again to welcome back old facesand meet new friends. This will be her third year as our Explorers Leader.Cameron Graaskamp, Explorers LeaderCameron is finishing up his freshman year <strong>at</strong> <strong>the</strong> University of <strong>New</strong> <strong>Hampshire</strong> where he is studyingBiochemistry, Molecular and Cellular Biology. At this point, he intends to pursue this major but isunsure of <strong>the</strong> direction his studies will take him. Cameron has spent five summers working as a <strong>Camp</strong>Counselor with our Discovery and Explorers groups. Before th<strong>at</strong>, he was a Friends of <strong>the</strong> Eagle camperfor numerous years. Cameron enjoys singing and is part of an a cappella group <strong>at</strong> UNH. In his free time,he enjoys hiking and exploring lakes and rivers in search of wildlife. He is excited to be back <strong>at</strong> NHAudubon for ano<strong>the</strong>r season as a leader for our Explorers.


Ally Lewko, Discovery CounselorAlly has been involved in Friends of <strong>the</strong> Eagle <strong>Camp</strong> for 16 years! She began <strong>at</strong> age 4 as a Wonderscamper and progressed through to become a Leader in Training. She has been a Counselor for <strong>the</strong> past4 years. Ally is finishing up her sophomore year <strong>at</strong> NHTI were she is studying to become an elementaryschool teacher with a minor in special educ<strong>at</strong>ion. Ally loves working with children. She enjoys working<strong>at</strong> NH Audubon because it gives her <strong>the</strong> opportunity to enjoy <strong>the</strong> outdoors while having <strong>the</strong>opportunity to teach children about <strong>the</strong> Earth <strong>the</strong>y live on. Ally will return as a leader for our Discoverycampers.Madeline Champlaine, Discovery CounselorMadeline is entering her third year as a Counselor with our Discovery campers. She is a recentgradu<strong>at</strong>e from Lyndon St<strong>at</strong>e College where she received a degree in N<strong>at</strong>ural Science. Madeline was bornand raised in Concord. In her free time, she enjoys hiking, baking, and spending time with family andfriends. Currently, she is pursuing a career in Conserv<strong>at</strong>ion or Wildlife Biology.K<strong>at</strong>e Haynes, Discovery CounselorK<strong>at</strong>ie is entering her third year as a Counselor with our Discovery campers. She came to NH Audubonwith previous camp experience. K<strong>at</strong>ie is certified as an elementary school teacher who is currentlyemployed as a paraprofessional with hopes to one day have her own classroom. She shares her love forn<strong>at</strong>ure, gre<strong>at</strong> imagin<strong>at</strong>ion, and skills as a teacher with our campers every day. Her favorite thing to dowith campers is take <strong>the</strong>m on journeys into <strong>the</strong> surrounding woodlands to discover new things.We are still in <strong>the</strong> process of filling some camp staff positions and will upd<strong>at</strong>e this document as new inform<strong>at</strong>ionbecomes available. As part of ourhiring process, we conduct reference and background checks for all our camp staff members. Our staffingstructure is designed to cre<strong>at</strong>e a r<strong>at</strong>io of campers to staff of approxim<strong>at</strong>ely 8 to 1 for Discovery <strong>Camp</strong> and 6 to 1for Wonders and Explorers <strong>Camp</strong>.
