Itis important that we do not leavea workshop without thinkinghow to achieve this so that thelearning and problem-solving isnot lost.Facilitator’s notesParticipants should be able tostay where they are seated todo the task. However, some mayprefer to move to the edge ofthe room or nearby where thereis more space to work and think.Time40 minutesInstructions1. Introduce the name of the session and its place in theworkshop timetable.2. Explain to participants that you would like them to completea task in the next 30 minutes. They should focus on theirown organisation for the task and work alone or with othercolleagues from their civil society organisation if they arepresent. If participants are on their own, they can sit withsomeone from another civil society organisation to swap notesand get advice and support, but they should focus on theirown organisation. Remind participants that this is valuablequiet time for them to think about the future. Read out thetasks and then hand them out to participants.TaskUsing your learner’s guide and extra handouts, write adetailed bullet-point plan of what information from thisworkshop you should share with colleagues back at your civilsociety organisation (or coalition) and how. Consider someof the insights and new ideas you have learned from theworkshop and how your organisation can respond to them.3. With two minutes to spare before the end of the session, call participants back to plenary and ask: “What kinds ofinformation or key points will you share with your colleaguesback at your civil society organisation?”34 MEASURING UP \\ A GUIDE FOR FACILITATORS
