Testing Procedure:<br />

WARNING<br />

Never use a cigarette lighter to test the propane<br />

alarm. Damage to the sending unit of the alarm may<br />

occur disabling the alarm from operating correctly.<br />

WARNING<br />

The propane alarm cannot detect propane gas or<br />

sound the alarm for two minutes after it has been<br />

turned ON.<br />

NOTE<br />

When the propane alarm is in the “active” and functioning<br />

mode the green LED will be illuminated.<br />

WARNING<br />

Test the operation of the propane alarm after the<br />

unit has been in storage, before each trip and a<br />

minimum of once per week.<br />

1 . To test the propane alarm press the TEST/<br />

MUTE switch any time the alarm is powered<br />

. The LED should turn RED and an<br />

auditable alarm will sound . Releasing the<br />

switch will deactivate the alarm .<br />

WARNING<br />

In the event the alarm does not sound or the RED<br />

LED fails to illuminate replace the alarm or have it<br />

immediately serviced by an authorized technician.<br />

2 . The GREEN LED will turn RED and the<br />

auditable alarm will sound whenever the<br />

level of propane exceeds the alarm threshold<br />

. The unit will continue to sound until<br />

the propane levels drops below a predetermined<br />

threshold or when the MUTE button<br />

is pressed .<br />

3 . To test the TEST-MUTE button when the<br />

device is active . The alarm should stop<br />

emitting a tone .<br />

4 . The RED LED will remain activated in the<br />

event propane levels are above accepted<br />

thresholds .<br />

5 . When the levels of propane drop below a<br />

predetermined threshold the LED with turn<br />

GREEN .<br />

6 . In the event there are levels of propane<br />

above accepted thresholds the auditable<br />

alarm will reactivate after about 90 seconds<br />

.<br />

7 . In the event the propane alarm is defective<br />

the LED will turn YELLOW . Have the<br />

propane alarm immediately replaced or serviced<br />

by an authorized technician .<br />

8 . Your propane alarm will operate down to 8<br />

volts DC . Do not operate the vehicle in the<br />

event the batteries drop below 8 volts DC .<br />

Battery boltage can be checked and monitored<br />

on the monitor located in the front of<br />

the vehicle .<br />

PROCEDURES TO TAKE DURING<br />

AN ALARM<br />

1 . Turn off all gas appliances . This includes<br />

but is not limited to the stove, heater,<br />

funace, etc .<br />

2. Extinguish all open flames and smoking<br />

materials .<br />

3 . Evacuate the unit . Leave doors and windows<br />

open during evacuation .<br />

4 . Turn off the propane at the tank valve . The<br />

propane tank is located in an exterior luggage<br />

compartment. It is identified by not<br />

having a “key lock” feature .<br />

5 . Determine and repair the source of the<br />

leak . See professional assistance .
