ADMISSIONSGUIDELINESTo be accepted into the I/O DoctoralProgram, applicants must first meetthe minimal admission standards ofthe <strong>University</strong> and be accepted intothe LA <strong>Tech</strong> Graduate School.The admission requirements anddeadlines are different for theGraduate School and the I/O DoctoralProgram, and acceptance into theGraduate School does not guaranteeacceptance into the program.Some program requirements forconsideration include: Official record of GRE Verbal scoreand Quantitative score Minimum undergraduate GPA of 3.0 Bachelor’s degree in psychology,Master’s degree in psychology, or 15hours of psychology with at least 6hours of statistics/researchThe Industrial/OrganizationalPsychology Program preparesstudents to work in areas relatingto applied behavioral science inorganizations and business.Outside of class, students are giventhe opportunity to gain hands-onexperience through involvementon various research and appliedproject teams with facultysupervision.The doctoral program involvesrigorous preparation inpsychological foundations,research methods and statisticalanalysis, I/O Psychology, andsuccessful completion and defenseof a dissertation involving originalresearch.The program generally requiresthree to four years of full-timestudy post-baccalaureate. Theactual amount of time neededvaries depending on student priorpreparation (a limited amount ofcredit may be requested for priorgraduate work) and progress inthe program.
