<strong>EMETRION</strong> <strong>net</strong> <strong>DC</strong>-<strong>1000</strong>/<strong>SL</strong><strong>Data</strong> <strong>Concentrator</strong><strong>The</strong> <strong>bridge</strong> between meters andthe metering system EDW3000.<strong>The</strong> product family <strong>EMETRION</strong> <strong>net</strong> sets thestandard for communicating meter technologyin the tariff customer range. <strong>The</strong> dataconcentrator <strong>DC</strong>-<strong>1000</strong>/<strong>SL</strong> is the functional linkbetween meters at field level and the meteringsystem EDW3000.It organises the local administration of themeters through the PLC <strong>net</strong>work and theremote connection to the control station, eitherperiodically for reading values, immediatelywhen tampering is detected or for disconnectioncommands.


<strong>The</strong> <strong>DC</strong>-<strong>1000</strong>/<strong>SL</strong> enables the management of maximum 1,024<strong>EMETRION</strong> <strong>net</strong> electricity meters. It is an integral componentin the infrastructure of meter technology, load managementand value-added services; the <strong>DC</strong>-<strong>1000</strong>/<strong>SL</strong> manages, monitorsand controls its associated devices.Billing data are collected from the meters and saved atconfigurable intervals. <strong>The</strong> metering system EDW3000organisess the remote reading of the data. <strong>The</strong> dataconcentrator automatically contacts the control centre in theevent of tampering or an alarm signal. A packet-orientedtransmission route, e.g. GPRS is used to link it to themetering system. <strong>The</strong> <strong>DC</strong>-<strong>1000</strong>/<strong>SL</strong> can receive informationfrom the control station, this can consist of configurationdata, control commands such as remotely controlleddisconnections and files (e.g. updates of meter firmware),the data are automatically downloaded in the relevantdevices without further intervention.Bi-directional dual carrier PLC technology from Echelonprovides an extremely robust proven signal transmission.Because the connection cables to the devices can extendover kilometers, the <strong>DC</strong>-<strong>1000</strong>/<strong>SL</strong> possesses the uniqueability to instruct a meter or a group of meters toautomatically relay information to remote devices.
