3INTRODUCTIONINTRODUCTIONThank you for purchasing the new Wicked Angel Nitro boat. This manual will instructyou to operate and maintain your new boat.Please read the entire owners manual, even if you are an experienced R/C modeler,because this boat has very different engine and radio settings from other models.If all of the precautions are followed, and your Wicked Angel is operated in a safe andresponsible manner, it is an exciting, safe and fun hobby for you and all who watch.Please examine the Wicked Angel carefully and read ALL instructionsthoroughly before attempting to operate this boat. Your Wicked AngelCANNOT be returned or exchanged after it has been run, or after any ofthe parts bags have been opened.CAUTIONTHIS BOAT IS NOT A TOY AND MUST BE OPERATED BY AN ADULT.This boat is a nitro-powered high-speed radio control model and must be handledproperly to avoid serious injury. The propeller turns at extremely high speeds and isvery sharp. The propeller has the potential to cause severe injury if any body partcomes in contact with it, whether it is moving or not. As the operator of the boat, youmust see to it that all instructions and precautions are followed for safety.

5THE RADIO SYSTEM & FUELTHE RADIO SYSTEMThe Wicked Angel comes with a two-channel radio completely installed. Thetransmitter has one channel for digital proportional steering and one channel forproportional throttle control. The receiver, two servos and receiver battery pack sit inthe sealed waterproof radio box. Before running the boat, always turn on the transmitterfi rst and then the receiver. When finished running your boat for the day, always turn thereceiver off first, then the transmitter.Always check your controls and perform arange test before using. Simply make sure thatthe boat’s steering and throttle mechanismsrespond quickly and smoothly to the controller.To range test, have a friend hold the boat (withpropeller safely away from their body and looseobjects) while you walk away from them as faras the maximum range you plan to operatethe boat, then test the controls again. Do notattempt to run the boat if the radio is functioningincorrectly.The proportional steering and throttle allowyou to control how much throttle you give andhow sharply you want to turn. Adjust the throttletrim (Diagram A) so that the boat simply idleswhen the throttle is in the neutral position.Adjust the steering trim (Diagram A) until theWicked Angel travels in a straight line whenDiagram A.the steering control is in the neutral position.(See steps 5 & 6 for furthur details)WARNINGNEVER TURN THE TRANSMITTER OFF WHILE OPERATING THE BOAT. THISWILL CAUSE THE BOAT TO RUN OUT OF CONTROL AND CAUSE A DANGEROUSCONDITION.FUELProper fuel is critical to optimum engine performance. Poor performance, hard startingand excessive engine wear may result from using improper fuels. Use a high-qualityblended boat fuel which contains BOTH synthetic and castor oils. Although Megatechcan not guarantee the quality of other manufacturers’ fuels, Megatech has tested thefollowing fuels and found them to be satisfactory for use in the Wicked Angel engine:Megatech’s High Velocity Fuel and Power Master’s 30% Boat Fuel.CAUTION: ALWAYS FOLLOW THE PRECAUTIONS PRINTED ON THE FUELCONTAINER. KEEP IT AWAY FROM OPEN FLAMES AND OUT OF REACH OFCHILDREN. FUEL MIXTURES ARE FLAMMABLE AND POISONOUS.

9DRIVING THE WICKED ANGEL , MAINTENANCE & A FINAL WORDDRIVING THE WICKED ANGELThe Wicked Angel weighs less and is more agile than many comparably sized, nitroboats.Because of its lighter weight, it is faster and rides higher out of the water.Operate the controls smoothly and carefully to avoid spinouts as you turn. Exercisecaution in rough, choppy water and in high winds. We recommend driving your WickedAngel on calm days (winds less than 15 MPH). While its modified “deep-v” hull designoffers great stability, the Wicked Angel could still spin out or flip if the wind catches ittoo high out of the water or if it hits a wave at an odd angle.You will find the steering of your Wicked Angel is very responsive. Take extra care indriving until you become familiar with its handling characteristics. If the boat pulls to oneside, adjust the steering trim on the transmitter until the boat travels in a straight line.Constant steering input may be required to maintain a straight course in crosswinds.Immediately reduce the throttle if the Wicked Angel appears to be unstable or starts“chine walking” (This is when the hull sways from side-to-side while running). Alwaysreduce the throttle when approaching a turn, especially in rough water.Cavitation occurs when the propeller loses “bite” in the water and makes the boatslow down or come off of plane. If this occurs, slow the boat down and then graduallyadvance the throttle to bring the boat back up to planing speed. This also occurs ifthere is debris on the propeller or rudder. Check the prop and rudder for any nicks orchips, as this will reduce the overall performance of your boat.MAINTENANCEKeep the Wicked Angel clean of dirt and oil.This will normally accumulate due to the fueland excess oil coming from the exhaust. Do notuse any solvents other than denatured alcoholor soapy water, otherwise the fi nish and decalsmay be damaged. Do not allow water to enter theengine or radio compartments. This can causeloss of radio control and corrosion. FrequentlyProp-Shaft Oilerre-oil the bushings in the drive housing and alllinkages attached to the engine. This can be done by putting silicone grease into theprop-shaft oiler (see photo). If the radio system becomes wet, do not use your boatuntil all components have been cleaned, dried and then range-tested to ensure goodradio reception. Detailing and waxing of the hull can be done with any polish thatis approved for use with plastics. Always test a small area fi rst to ensure success.Remember, never store your Wicked Angel with unused fuel still in the tank.FINAL THOUGHTSThe Megatech Wicked Angel can be characterized as pure offshore racing excitementin modeling form. With proper use and maintenance your Wicked Angel will provideyears of enjoyment. Always remember to follow all safety precautions when operatingyour boat. Enjoy!

If any component of thisproduct fails to function properly due to defects in materials or manufacturing process during this90-day period, the manufacturer’s obligations are limited and manufacturer can choose to eitherrepair the defective part or replace it.This warranty does not cover any damage caused by use, misuse, alteration, accident, orneglect, nor does it cover normal wear and tear of the product.
